Exceptionally high quality whey protein sourced from grass-fed cows
***UPDATE 2/21/19*** I feel compelled to provide an updated review after using Promix grass-fed whey consistently for some time. Verdict: Promix grass-fed whey is now officially, 100% hands down, The Best whey protein I have ever used over the years, compared to at least a dozen of other known whey protein brands on the market. It's also refreshing and instills a lot of confidence when a supplement company stands behind their products and takes pride in their quality with independent testing. Having acquired an injury, my workouts used to be sporadic & uninspiring over the past year or so due to slowed recovery time, loss of strength and rehab. But, ever since I started supplementing with Promix whey, I noticed my workout performance and strength level have dramatically increased. I also experience incredible muscle pumps like never before during workout. More importantly though, I have been able to lift heavy much more frequently now week after week. As a casual and natural lifter with other full-time commitment, fast recovery is key in order to get immediate results. I noticed that when supplementing with Promix whey, I recover so much quicker by leaps and bounds after a brutal workout session compared to the past when I was using other well-known brand name whey proteins. This in turn, has allowed me to stick to my workout schedule consistently and make significant gains in a short period of time, despite having to still rehab for an injury. Another thing worth mentioning.. Before discovering this whey, I had to put up with having to stomach nasty artificial sweeteners and junk fillers present in other well-known brand name whey proteins for years. Since I do not experience any bloating or indigestion issues whatsoever after switching to Promix grass-fed whey, I'm now able to ingest whey frequently more than once a day. More frequent intake of it has allowed my body to stay in positive nitrogen balance consistently to enhance muscle growth and tissue repair after subjecting it to intense workouts. I also observed that it helps me stay lean while gaining muscle mass at the same time probably b/c I'm not taking in any junk sweeteners and fillers! For those looking for an outstanding quality whey protein to maximize their workout results or supplement an active lifestyle, look no further. This is what you need! I am "whey" ahead of my New Year's fitness resolution thanks to this product as it shattered all my expectations beyond imagination in just a short period of time. Promix grass-fed is now The go to whey protein for me. Onwards and upwards! ***ORIGINAL REVIEW 12/7/18*** I've never had whey protein sourced from grass-fed cows before. So out of curiosity, I placed an order for a 5 pounder, unflavored. Delighted to find that It does not have any chalky taste and mixes instantly w/ water. Delicious even though it is unflavored. More importantly, it also tastes very light and easy on the stomach compared to any other whey protein from other companies I have had. I don't like those whey proteins that contain way too much sweeteners or junk fillers that just sit in your stomach. Proof is definitely in the pudding because I could taste the difference immediately upon trying it. Here's some additional things I like about Promix grass-fed whey protein: 1. Each serving of it contains about 5.9 grams of BCAA! 2. Made from milk sourced from grass-fed cows on family farms in California. Happy cows come from California! 3. Cold processed, micro-filtered, undenatured whey 4. 3rd party independent testing on every production batch 5. Supports animal welfare, small farms and sustainable farming This whey is the real deal. No doubt it is an exceptionally high quality whey protein source. So, my order arrived on a hectic Black Friday w/ a little bit of a manufacturing mishap in the paper foil under the cap. It so happened that I completely ran out of protein supply that week and really counted on this shipment to replenish. Upon contacting Promix customer support, they immediately sprung into action and sent out a replacement that I received within the same week! The replacement is super perfect. Above and beyond, exceeding my expectations as a first time customer. Thanks for saving my workout week, Promix! In summary: High quality, tasty whey protein sourced from healthy grass-fed cows coupled w/ world class customer service. For these 2 reasons alone, you earned a new loyal customer and a well-deserved 5 stars! Folks, if you haven't tasted whey protein sourced from grass-fed cows, you're missing something out of your life. Highly recommend this Promix whey protein!

Loving this stuff
I was a bit skeptical because I had not heard of the brand before and if you go to find their website is REALLY barebone. (Hey Promix, contact me, I can upgrade your website for you in exchange for product!!!) I love this stuff. This is the best Whey Protein I could find. Now I am hoping it is as pure as they say, with the 3rd party checking and all, but like every other protein powder on the market there is no way for us consumers to know for sure. Here is what I like about it: 1) No sweetners added. No Xylitol (which MIGHT be okay, for some). No aspartame or any of that other junk I don't want in my body. 2) No SOY. Look at 90% of the protein out there and you will find Soy Lecithin in it. Even the Jay Robb (expensive) power that I used to use had soy lecithin in it. Also, if you use Jay Robb thinking it is frm grass fed cows, you might want to read the bag again. It says they "try" to get it from grass fed sources, but when not available they will use regular whey. SAY WHAT?) 3) This is from GRASS FED cows. What difference does that make? Cows are supposed to eat grass, not grains. Grains cause inflammation in the body, which is the cause for most chronic diseases (from arthritis to heart disease to cancer). So if you eat grains, you get inflammation. Cows to do. When you eat grain fed cows or drink grain fed cows milk (or whey) you get inflammation. Eat lots of greens (spinach, broccoli, etc. for people) and you reverse the inflammation in your body. When cows use grass for food, they pass along NON-Inflammatory markers onto you. This is the whey nature intended. (Pun intentional) 4) No hormones or antibiotics for rBST going into your body. Need a say more? 5) No GMO ingredients. 6) It is Low Carb. Works great with my low carb lifestyle. 7) The processing of the whey is important, and cold processing in a whey that does not denature the whey is important. You want bioavailability. You want a product that the body recognizes and can easily digest and use. You want the full amino acid profile and immune boosting products. 8) I don't trust China products that go into my body and neither should you. MADE IN THE USA. 9) No BPA in packaging is nice too. 10) It mixes fine. I am happy with the whey it mixes into my unsweetened Almond Milk. 11) Protein is about 80%, which is pretty high. Very pure stuff. 12) 3rd Party testing for impurities. ( You really should demand that from ANY protein powder you are going to consume. There are a LOT of heavy metal contaminants in other products as revealed by Consumer Reports) 13) The taste. It almost has no taste. You could do just about anything with this. I have taken it straight and even without sweeteners it isn't bad at all. Kind of pleasant actually. When I use it in my BlendTech and add a bunch of greens (Spinach, Kale, Collards, etc) I like to add a little bit of natural stevia. I can control how much and what form of Stevia I used (non denatured) So for the record, I don't work for Promix and never heard of them before finding them on Amazon. I have tried TONS of different brands of Whey protein powders, but now that I have found this I can't see myself using anything else unless they raise the price drastically.

Inconsistent batches, upset stomach on last batch = Time to switch
I've been a user of Promix Unflavored Grass-Fed Whey protein for almost 3 years. In that time, I've gone thru three different 5-lb orders. My first order arrived in a bag (before they switched to the tubs) almost three years ago. The flavor was non-existent and mixed very well. I could hardly tell it was there. Great stuff! My protein shake recipe is as follows: 12 oz Califia Toasted Coconut Almondmilk Blend 2 scoops Promix ~1 tsp Hershey's chocolate powder 1 packet Truvia Dash of espresso powder Delicious mix! I finally ran out of the original order last fall when I got serious about weight-lifting. The second batch I ordered was more yellow than the original and also slightly sweeter (see attached photo, second order on left and original order on right). But, it seemed to mix even better and actually enhanced the flavor of my protein shakes. However - the amount of protein in each scoop changed from 15 grams per two scoops to 25 grams per two scoops, and the scoop size also changed to slightly larger - again, see attached photos. My third order, placed this past April, was a different story. If I had written a review last fall, I would've given this product five stars. However, the batch I received in April was even more pale than the first order, doesn't mix nearly as well, and has also given me diarrhea every day I've consumed it, going on for a month! I was traveling at the time I started this new batch of Promix and originally attributed my upset stomach to that. However, I determined it was indeed Promix because when I returned home I continued to have diarrhea on the days I consumed Promix, and a happier stomach on the days I didn't. I've enjoyed using this product but the inconsistency is of great concern to me, and I am very disappointed by the fact that I have had a very upset stomach because of their product. I hope this review is viewed by the manufacturer and they address this issue. Like a previous, recent reviewer who is also suffering the same issues as me, I hope this is just a fluke batch but I am switching to another product from a different brand in the meantime.

The best protein on the market, in my opinion.
Bottom line: I absolutely love this stuff and have referred at least 5 friends to starting using it too. I just looked back at my order history and I've ordered *TEN* 5lb bags of this dating back to Sep'14. I've been a gym rat for 6-7 years now and have tried many name brand proteins out there (Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, BSN Syntha 6, Musclepharm Combat, Vega Protein, JYM Protein and ISOpure) - and I can't imagine I'll ever use anything besides ProMix 100% Grassfed Whey. I love this protein for the following reasons: * Two ingredients: Whey protein derived from cows that are *GRASS-FED*. This is extremely important as cows fed a grain diet are very unhealthy, often fed antibiotics, and their milk has been shown to be nutritionally deficient compared to their grass-fed counterparts. The other ingredient is GMO free sunflower lechitin (props for not using soy lechitin!) *No SWEETENERS!!! I'm a health nut but also a normal human being. I make exceptions in my diet where I feel it worth it, but given the amount of protein I consume (~50g/day of this stuff) - I want no unnecessary additives - particularly sugar/sweetener. This protein tastes great - clean, simple kinda like watery milk. You really don't need or want any sugar in your protein. * Great mixability/taste/texture. This powder is exactly what I'd intuitively expect a pure powder to be. It's not sticky, mixes REALLY easily in a blender bottle (without the little ball) or even spoon-stirred in a cup. I use this in my morning smoothies and just drink it straight for my second serving of protein post-workout *Incredible value: 91 servings of 20g (!!!!) of protein. I'm never one to leave reviews (and I'm realizing that I'm not very good at it.. but hey, practice makes perfect. Bravo, ProMix!

Excellent product if no GI upset
Pros: Ingredients list speaks for itself Mixes very well in plain water/orange juice/or coconut milk. It has a creamy smooth texture. Not frothy at all and mixes completely, doesn't settle at the bottom like some other powders Absolutely zero flavor which is what I wanted Excellent customer service that answered my questions thoroughly Cons: It seems to be the culprit of my abdominal bloating. Yes I'm lactose intolerant but I've had other whey concentrates that didn't bloat me. I'm now trying their Whey Isolate version The 5 lb plastic tub is HUGE. I like to keep my protein powder in the refrigerator and this takes up a large amount of space. I wish they packaged it in a slimmer container or just a bag.

Affordable, quality protein that I'm in love with, here's why...
I've now purchased this protein powder twice and have no complaints! I researched a ton before purchasing the first time because I had new digestive issues I was dealing with and had to stop consuming Muscle Milk, which I now feel like was a total waste of money, but that happens when you have to make huge lifestyle changes. I learned that cane sugar and artificial sugars were causing me severe issues with my IBS and so needed to eliminate it from my daily diet. So that was the first thing I was looking for. There really are not a lot of options once you do this, but I didn't want to settle for just anything. So I made a list of what I was really looking for from my protein and ProMix was the only protein powder I could find that hit all the marks. I wanted a protein powder that: - provided at least 20g of complete protein, because I need a good protein boost after my workouts - was under 150 calories, preferable 100 or less - was hemp free because I'm allergic - was sweetener free, so I could sweeten it or not with what I choose - unflavored, so I could use it in anything I wanted and flavor it myself - affordable, this was so important, paying for $20+ a month on protein powder is just not within my budget - Preferred, but not required: responsibly sourced, and was honest about their sourcing I know not everyone is looking for this, but it is important to think about what you are looking for from your protein powder to make sure you get the right one for you! ProMix fulfilled my needs. I typically just mix it with my coconut water for my post-workout and it tastes so refreshing. On its own in water I would say it doesn't have much of a flavor, it like I'm just drinking a creamy water. Maybe its sort of tastes like plain non-dairy coffee creamer, but it doesn't impact the flavor of my smoothies, pancakes, muffins/breads, hot chocolate, oatmeal, homemade ice cream, etc. that I have put it in for a protein boost. If it does anything it makes beverages creamier and thicker. FYI, I have never used it alone in baked goods. I have always included oats, flour, pumpkin puree, etc. with it because I've found things without those lovely carbs to not be satiating. I'm not a low carb person because I run and lift, so I need the carbs. Hope this helps some of you, but you should really start off with asking yourself what you are looking for from your protein and do your research before you purchase anything.

Seems to be good, but with areas for concern.
This is my first whey concentrate protein powder, but it seems to be pretty good. It mixes fairly well with a blender, and goes down easy. But, like most protein powders, it can slow the plumbing a bit. The biggest area of concern for me is the "undenatured" claim for this powder. I am no expert, but a common consumer who likes to do his research, and I've read on several articles that the pasteurization temp would have to be 161.6 F or lower, not to damage the protein structure, allowing its nutrients to be available. I see that this powder is pasteurized at 164F, which is not a minor difference in temp. So, something to look into. UPDATE - 4/24/2017 I've purchased a second canister of this and it much less yellow, compared to the first. Once again, I'm no expert, but through some research, it seems that grass-fed whey is supposed to be more yellow. I do see in the answers section that Promix addressed this concern from another buyer, and stated that the lighter color was due to the processing change and that they'd be changing back. Well, that was about a year ago, so I'm not certain why the yellow coloring isn't back. Ultimately, who knows if the quality is any different, but just another area for consideration.

Another satisfied customer!
Update: I still choose this product over other whey powders (taste, quality, freshness), but am VERY disappointed in the use of a clear tub. I preferred the dark tub to protect the ingredients from damage by light. Before my last order, I received an opaque tub, but this last order now had a completely clear tub. I cannot understand the logic or reasoning for graduating away from the solid black colored tub to this completely clear tub. I'm also annoyed that the 10lb pouch hasn't been available for unflavored the past 2 times I've needed to restock. Please bring back the darker colored tubs and help me stop looking for an alternative powder. Add me to the list of satisfied customers! I had been using Whey Factors for at least 10 years, and decided to update my research on the latest and greatest in whey protein (still think it's a great protein powder, but Promix is better pricewise and has an edge on quality, too). I settled on Promix with a lot of faith at the 5lb size! It mixes very easily--I use a cheapo milk frothing gizmo from Ikea, but this would mix just as well in a blender bottle. The unflavored is the best bang for your buck. I added some to a mango-date yogurt smoothie and my child said, "This is too sweet now!" So the whey is high on taste given how naturally sweet it its. It's versatile enough and could just be added to plain milk for a naturally sweet treat. It smells great, too. As another reviewer mentioned, the yellowness of the powder is another indicator that it's from grassfed cows. In the mornings, I mix this with some plain cocoa powder and pure stevia, then mix it with milk as part of my kids' breakfast. I could add this to baked goods, too, for added protein and flavor. I also emailed the company to doublecheck on the lactoferrin amount. They quickly responded, and their 3rd party results satisfied me.
