Worked perfectly!!!! (Yes it’s adhesive)
Definitely recommend. My husband had an old lamp that was given to him by a family member when he was a child. It’s a little older, but he cherished it. So when it was damaged by movers he was very upset. I never knew what that inside part of the lampshade was, or if it could even be replaced. After a bit of research online, I found out what could be used and ordered the size needed for this project. I took my time, peeling the old inner lining off the lampshade so it didn’t rip or stretch the original fabric. Then I made sure the old shade fabric was clean and dry and replaced the new liner with the styrene. It was so easy to use and the adhesive backing worked great! It’s a little thicker than the original stuff, but the quality is fantastic and I’m sure it will last a long time. It was easy to cut to fit all I did was outline the original lampshade (while it still had the old liner to keep it stiff) so that it would fit perfectly. I like that the Styrene is white so that it doesn’t block light considering that the shade fabric has darker colors. The lamp looks fantastic now. It is definitely worth the price. My only recommendation is that you take your time when attaching the fabric to the adhesive backing. The adhesive did allow me to pull the fabric up to make sure there was no bubbling. Do not press down on the fabric until it is in the position you want! Once you press it down it’s harder to pull off and readjust. Like I said just take your time-don’t rush the project. Definitely five stars and worth it.

Easy to work with on projects
The styrene is beautiful. It cut well with a rotary cutter. It's a 4 star because we overlapped the end and it came apart. A little Gorilla glue worked perfectly.

Lamp turn out amazing. Just need a little imagination and be creative for a beautiful finish.
Very easy to use. I covered a chandelier using this product and it turned out fantastic.Only down fall for me was the diameter was 65” and the longest roll I could get without going really wide and buying unnecessary amounts, was 64”. Size purchased 10x64. I added an inch to the fabric at the end. It was ok and worked out , but would have had a better finished look had the roll came in say 10 x 70 or 72”

Great project and wonderful gift idea
I made a super cute sock monkey shade for my son's room. It does take a little bit of time gluing the rings to the material and you should have some clothespins on hand to make your life easy. A custom lampshade is a great, personalized gift and you can instantly refresh a room for very little money. Plus, the final product is very satisfying! Don't spend gobs of money on premade lampshades that are just "ok". Make something you love!!

Great product!
Made my first 3 mini lampshades with jute covering. Worked very well. It's very stiff so I didn't need metal rings for support. I had to massage the styrene a bit when creating a circle as it has lot of power to unwinds.

This was a very rewarding project artistically and financially.
I rolled it out and put books on the ends to let it uncurl for a couple of days as suggested by others. The adhesive backing adhered well and went on pretty easily, especially considering the fact that I used a heavy weight home dec fabric. I reused the rings from my old lampshades and it came out looking like a professional made it. I also purchased the double sided tape suggested by Amazon which made the project go much more smoothly than using glue would have. I was a little nervous about taking this on, but it was surprisingly easy to do.

Not worth the price
Seems to be great quality, but make sure to double check the size you’re getting.Thought I bought a much longer piece, but instead got only 40” for $40. I could have just bought two brand new lamp shades for that price! Instead, I can’t even make one. Would not recommend.
