Amazing cutting ability
This 27-foot tree pole pruner has impressed me more than I could have imagined! It definitely has weight to it, but that's the tradeoff for pole strength. The cutting ability of the blade (two come with it) is awesome. I had two Bradford Pear Trees drop two massive branches on my home recently, typical for Bradford Pears I found out the hard way, and so I have had to not only cut up the fallen limbs but needed to trim the rest of the trees until I can get them removed. In the process, my chainsaw went down and needed repairs, so I was left with just my pole saw. I am still amazed and impressed with how well this saw works! Absolutely worth the cost. No doubt its heavy and difficult to handle when it's extended but it cut through thick limbs and branches better than any manual saw I ever used. I have pushed this saw to its maximum potential and I am beyond impressed. I would highly recommend this pole saw! At this point, I have no negative comments about this tool. Be sure to attach the extension poles from one end, never in the middle of your extension and be careful to align the threads carefully so not to miss thread and you will be fine with how well this works.

Best on the market!
Great pole saw and saws through just about everything with ease. I've saved so much money and time using it! I also love the feature of being able to screw in extension pieces.....you work with the best length without a lot of extra weight. Also the carry bag is very nice for storing! I love it!

Works Well/Takes Effort/Hand Grip Came Off on Second Day of Use
First, I would say that I would buy this again. Poles are long (longer than you can probably use) and pretty sturdy for the height. Blade is sharp. Extra blade is great to have and one of the reasons why I bought this product as compared to competition. Carry bag is essential as you approach the trees to get the correct height on the pole. Cutting high branches takes work so be prepared but that is to be expected and is manageable if you want a good shoulder/arm workout. Once I got "started" I found more and more low or dead branches to cut (some quite high). Very addicting. Also, the hooks on each end of the blade are essential for ease of cutting but also VERY helpful to grab dead vines on trees to pull down. The reason I only gave it four stars is because, on the second day, the rubber bottom and mid pole grip handle on the lowest pole both came off (I couldn't find them in the woods). At first I thought I left that pole section on the ground as I modified the pole height periodically but then (after looking around for them for a while) I realized they had just slid off since that end of the pole had no metal connector piece like the others. You don't really need the grips but they should have been more securely attached so a one star "demerit." Overall, very glad I bought this!

excellent in every way.
This saw is awesome, truly. I have to regularly cut palm fronds that are way the heck up there. The multiple segments lets you chose your length. The two blades are very sharp, and so they cut quickly. A great cheap tool.

Perfect for the task at hand.
I bought two because I needed to go quite a bit higher than 27' could reach. Getting the whole thing up in the air took a bit of planing but the results were absolutely perfect. Disregarding the reach, the cutting ability was simply excellent and provided common sense was used the poles never came loose during use. After working on more than 10 massive trees over the last seven months, I can say I'm a very happy customer and would certainly recommend this tool for any size tree. Just make sure you know what you are doing before you start cutting.

I Love This Thing
This pruner is awesome. I am using this in conjunction with a rope saw to bring down a 40 ft maple tree. I can easily lift without the last long piece put in. I am a 58 year old man, I weigh about 150 lbs and have pretty good upper body strength. I've found the easiest way to get this into the tree is to build it from the bottom and slide it up the tree, so you don't have to lift it all at once. I still have to stop and rest before I get a limb cut through entirely, it's quite a workout. Take your time putting the pieces together, it would be easy to cross thread. Blade is very sharp and stays sharp and it's easy to put together. Great carry bag too. Saved me a lot of money not having to hire a tree service.

It saved me over a thousand dollars ... but you can't handle it.
I had a 40+ foot tall birch tree that was leaning precariously toward the power line that feeds our house. Every time we got a strong south wind I'd wonder if that would be the day we would be involuntarily removed from the grid. A tree service guy who was doing work for my neighbor took a quick look and quoted me $1500 to cut it down and dispose of it. (Not much less just to cut it down.) Short story, I used this pole saw to cut it down. Long story, I cut the tree off in many smaller sections and avoided hitting anything but dirt. But that included taking off some of the branches with me standing on the roof of my house. And THAT's why you can't handle it. My house is two stories tall which gave me the extra height I needed to get to the top branches but it's also 15 feet away from the tree I was after. And although this polesaw only weighs 15 lbs or so, in the middle, by the time you extend the saw to it's full length away from you while you grasp it toward the end, the laws of physics/engineering state that you won't be strong enough to make the saw end go where you want it to cut. You know... kind of like the principle of the lever. Or maybe think of it as a really long torque wrench working against you. "Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I can move the world." Give me a pole saw long enough and although I can easily hold it from the middle, if I hold it from the end I'm gonna have a problem. So maybe you can do it. But you have to be tricky. When I was still working from the ground, I planted the handle end against a structure and with it braced there, held onto it the pole and walked it back until it was upright. When it's standing straight up it doesn't seem as heavy (no leverage working against you) but you still have to fight it to keep it there like a guy trying to keep plates on a pole spinning. From the upright position your next challenge is to slowly lower the blade end and let it come to rest against the branch you are after. But the more you leave vertical the heavier it seems to get. So you may miss the branch and be faced with trying to slow down (good luck!) a rapidly descending and increasingly heavy sword of death flying toward whatever happens to be underneath it. From the roof I was unable to brace the pole when wielded it. And although I didn't need to go as high, I had to go further out. That meant that I had to use a kind of javelin technique to get the blade to land on the target branch. I pointed the blade end where I needed it to be,holding it as far out as I was able to, and then thrust it quickly up and away from me and hoped it reached. I admit that I had to give up after one such session because my arms had turned to jello after many failed attempts. I tried again the next day after a rest and was successful. Your results may vary. For comparison, I am 6' 1" and 190 lbs(plus or minus). And although I'm not as strong as I used to be because ... old age ... I'm pretty sure that I'm still stronger than my much younger wife and son-in-law ... combined. Oh .. and I also snapped one of the joints when the pole became trapped between the roof and a heavy branch that was accelerating earthward at 9.8 meters per second squared. Not the products fault. But the steel threads couldn't handle the hit it took. So rejoined the surviving pieces and continued work with one fewer 98cm long section (I measured).

26 feet pruner / does the job
This is a great tool for those high branches. You will need to have strong arms to hold this pruner and have good balance with your arms because it will shift on you. My arms got tired after cutting 2 branches 25 feet high within 5 minutes. Take a rest and go back later to prune some more branches from the tree. It is worth the money to cut the branches down. The professionals will charge big bucks to cut the branches.
