I still haven't figured out how to use the remote. I manually programmed it for a 12 hour usage. It's wonderful. It comes on early in the morning and by evening it slowly dims into a blue light. The blue light helps in the growth of algae, which I need for several of my fish. It stays on for a few hours before slowly going off. The strength of the light was bright enough that I bought risers to extend the height and lessen the strength so plants and fish are happier. I really would recommend this light. There's so many things you can do if you can figure out the remote. I'm happy with my lack of knowledge and the way it works. It was definitely worth the money.

When it comes to budget friendly alternatives to the “bigger better” brands, I’m a fan of Hygger. For the money, their products are hard to complain about and this light does not fall short of that. The light itself is awesome. It would undoubtedly be 5 stars from me however, programming it to run a schedule is an absolute dumpster fire of a process. No doubt it works, but it takes some playing around with to get it right. Unless you have the mind and the patience for stuff like that I would strongly suggest going with the HG-018. That being said, hope this helps you like it did me. Press M to cycle through daylight, moonlight and manual light settings labeled 51, 52 and 53 and hold M to enter and up/down arrows to adjust the field you're in. You must turn off both the daylight and moonlight settings under 51 and 52 before the manual programming will run. I could not get the factory reset to work holding the down and color buttons but unplugging it will do the same thing. Press M until 53 appears, hold M to enter the programming. There are 8 slots labeled L1-L8. L8 is permanently set to 0% light for night so fill in the other 7 accordingly. M again will cycle through the start and end times and light color/percentage fields. The start time of the next slot will automatically begin from the end time of the previous slot. Using 24hr time may also be easier. When you reach the light field, you can cycle through all 4 colors with the color button, each color can be adjusted between 0 to 100%. Any number of them can be used alone or together, each being set to any percentage individually. Once you reach the end of L8 it automatically saves and exits the programming. Changing anything requires cycling through the entire procedure but you don't have to re enter everything unless it's had the power removed from it. The lights do not immediately turn all the way on suddenly, they will slowly turn on over a few minutes

Currently using only the 999 model. Have 5 - 36" models, 1 -30" model. Also recently ordered 2 more 30" models and 1 - 48" model due to how well the others have worked. Original 30" and 36" lights have been running daily for just shy of a year with no issues and plants are flourishing. When i ordered the last 3 - 36" lights for my 40 breeders and a 60 gal. one arrived and would not power up, shot a video of concern and notified customer support, a new power pack (plug) was sent out next day. Unfortunately it took longer than it should have imo to receive and delayed the tank getting set up with the others. When setting up i highly advise, depending on what plants your growing and your tank depth of course setting the light at no more than 40% (low light, no Co2) and trying it for a couple weeks. Instead of blasting your tank with full light which will undoubtedly cause an algae outbreak. I currently use them on a 29 gal(30% diy mode), 2 - 40(30% 24/7 mode with 1/2 hr 25% green night light) gal breeders, 60 gal(40% 24/7 mode same as 40 breeders) and on a 135 gal(diy mode) only the 135gal is at 50% with low light plants. (no floating plants for shade in any tank) These lights are strong. All tanks set at 10 hours after being at 8 hours for a month. Growing Jungle Val, Rotala rotundafolia, Bacopa, Ludwigia red, java moss, guppy grass, Anubias.

I give this product 5 stars.It's absolutely amazing.The amount of different colors you get to use is great by originally got this for my axolotl and it's a amazing this also goes pretty great with the stands as well

The color spectrum, kelvin, lumens, and par are great on this lamp for a budget light. Disclaimer: I have not measured any of those out on mine so I couldn't give you technical specs. I'm basing this off the thriving eco system I've built with these lights! I love the DIY feature this light offers. I've set mine up to go from a dim moonlight, to sunrise, to different brightness of normal light spectrum throughout the day to a sunset effect. This light combined with a couple of other lights in my tank make for a really cool effect!

Let me start off with it worked perfectly and is easy to use! The timer system is easy to use and set it up in minutes after opening my package. There is just the PERFECT brightness so it is effective and doesn't hurt your eyes. If my friend asked me for recommendations I would send the link for this product. 10/10
