(American Girl® Activities) Review: Fun to tear a book apart and make a new one for you - My daughter loved that she was allowed to read and read this book up on purpose. It really took a lot more time that I thought for her to finish and kept her busy and mind working. Get this! Review: Cute book, classic Keri Smith! - I bought this for a girl's 9th birthday. I was considering just getting "Wreck This Journal", but found that this was also Keri Smith, and since said girl loves American Girl, I chose this one. I added the suggested supplies and bagged it up. It was a big hit, and she was even more excited than I thought she would be. It was the first gift she played with, and there are enough activities to keep her busy for awhile. It's very cute, and clever, like the other Keri Smith books. It has fun, friendly suggestions in teh book, and is a good gift for 7-11 year old crafty girls. Even if they're not very crafty, get this for them anyway, it's up to them how they choose to use it.

Filled with fun activities
I got one of these books for my great-niece at a library book sale. When her sister saw it ( I got her a different book she had wanted) she asked me to get her one. It has a lot of fun activities and pages you can cut out with fun things like a secret message box and a fortune teller. The girls i got them for are ages 6 and 9 and it is suitable for both.

Fun Gift
I have some of Keri Smith's books myself that I really enjoy, so I bought this one for my goddaughter in 5th grade. I think it's a nice, fun book for girls. I only wish that it was a little more unstructured and open to interpretation like Wreck this Journal and her others, but I'm sure my goddaughter will still have fun with it. I know I would have when I was that age.

Read the Reviews (ages 5-10ish)
This is a very cute book! Fun for someone from ages 5-10ish. If you’re 10-year old is mature, maybe not advanced enough. Got this for a friend’s 7-year, I think she’ll enjoy it and without much supervision or help/guidance.

I'm smiling
My niece hates books...sad as I'm all about books...and love teen fiction. Lately she's trying and so, along with other sure bets, I came across this book and the title was so 'my niece'! I picked it up, perused, and realized it's not so much a book as much as a little craft journal. There's stickers, punch out boxes to make, drawing instructions to try, lists to make and share with friends, and oodles of past time stuff. It's not a book...really...but to receive her call the other day, "Aunt Susan.....this was so fun! Thank you...I've already made the fortune teller with (friend's name)." So, I smile. I still want her to read real books...but for fun, this hit the mark. I'd recommend.

So Cute!
Purchased for my 9 yr old niece as a gift. She likes it and has already done some of the activities in it. This is a great book to give young girls ideas for activities to keep them from being "bored".

The book is lovely, but
My 7yo LOVES the "adult" Keri Smith books. She has wrecked this journal, and created her imaginary world. She has finished this book, and learned to be an explorer of the world. I was worried that this book, directed at the younger crowd, would be less engaging or too simplistic or not open ended enough for her, but she is enjoying the activities. The colors and illustrations are bright and inviting. I do feel as though the activities are appealing to a younger crowd, but the writing and complexity of the directions require reading ability and understanding above that age level. By the time an "average" reader can handle the book alone, the content might seem too infantile.

I have two girls aged 8 and 7. I got them a copy each for a family holiday to keep them amused in the car and on rainy days. They love filling in these books together and judging by the amount of giggling they seem to really enjoy it. I think it would also be a good gift for friends birthdays as well. Kept them amused for a week (in rainy Scotland) and seems to still be going strong over 1 month later.

This just arrived in the mail and I already want to buy it for every girl I know. It's got clever, crafty ideas that go beyond the regular stuff. I was originally looking for a sticker book for my daughter's birthday but this is WAY better! I'm going to buy one for my friend's daughter's birthday right now.

i bought this book for our 11years old neighbour , she is learning english and loves craft so this book was the perfect addition to a craft gift basket. The book is really cute, colourful and got a lot of cool craft ideas. Its the perfect book to take away on holiday to keep a little creative girl busy.
