Well made and works great but does have an odor if you are sensitive to smells.
It does heat up and feel nice but the smell is overwhelming and horrible and makes me feel sick! It smells bad!! Yuck. I get the worst headache and feel nauseous. Update - I immediately heard from the seller after writing this review. She was so kind and caring and offered me a full refund. She said the odor was from the fresh seeds and would dissipate with usage. I am extremely sensitive to smells, much more than most people. I can't be around any perfumes. Everything else about it is great. It is well made and the weight is perfect and the materials soft. (I'm very fussy about textures too.) It does heat up nicely in the microwave and felt heavenly to my sore neck.

Warm moist heat where and when it’s needed
Exactly what I needed! Moist heat without being moist and can be warmed up quickly for continued use (though not prolonged - per directions). The lavender scent can be strong at first. Had whiplash from a recent fall where my head it a door jamb … I was up within seconds of the fall and felt fine except for goose egg on my noggin. Over the next day or so I started feeling the tightness settle in my neck, and, while I could turn my head, it was slow and felt like wherever I stopped I kinda froze in place for a bit. *** if something similar has happened to you, please seek medical attention to avoid any further injury to your neck/spinal cord *** fortunately I was able to figure it out and got this item right away to slowly ease my neck back into regular operation. I have a heating pad but thought moist heat would be better and I think it made the difference. Within a few days I was able to look over my shoulder in both directions. Keep the instruction card handy by the microwave so you don’t over heat it. It can also be used to warm the foot of your bed under the covers for a better night’s sleep. I did sorta hold it closed around my neck the first couple of times, then got a bath towel to tie around the whole set up on my neck so I didn’t have to hold it there. I started turning my head left and right the second day I used it .. for a few times starting out and progressed to looking back further as the stiffness would allow.

I call it my Neck Buddy
Really long review for an item that is seemingly very "simple"... but I hope this helps someone like me. My Story: I've been having terrible neck pain (unknown cause), which has been keeping me from sleeping well for weeks and causing headaches that last for many days. Nothing has really cured my neck pain. But I found that HEAT does help ease my neck pain, and relaxes it enough for me to sleep. Heating pads (electric) are awesome, in theory, because they heat up quickly, and get super hot and stay hot. Unfortunately, I have tried multiple types, even the neck-shaped ones, and none of them are able to get the heat to my actual NECK/base of skull without me folding it or contorting it all sorts of directions. Folding an electric heating pad is not advisable and can cause the heating pad to melt, fail, and/or start a fire. So I was looking for another way... a safer way. I had been looking all over amazon to decide which microwavable neck wrap to get, and I found this one, and I was wary because it only had 2 reviews at the time. I took a chance and I do like it. My only problem with it is that it seems to take a LOTTTT longer than the recommended microwave time to get it to a heat that's hot enough to be, um, HOT! otherwise, it's just kinda warm, and what's the point?! So i'm finding myself spending a lot of time in front of the microwave, at least 5 minutes total, to heat this thing; microwave 1 minute, stop & check, not done, microwave another minute, stop & check, not done, flip, microwave another minute.... and on for about 5 minutes. I don't want it to catch fire like other people's wraps (on amazon) have done, so I must only do it for 1 minute, then stop and check it. DO NOT LEAVE IT UNATTENDED in the microwave! I assume this process is the same for ANY neck wrap that you buy, because they all seem to take freakin forever to heat up, regardless of its quality. I've done one filled with rice, and it took just as long. Note: my microwave is >1100 watts; so, it's not weak! So, I actually ended up using my little neck buddy for a non-advertised purpose, not its primary purpose. I love that it's solid on the inside and soft on the outside. I find myself using it in bed to rest my head in all sorts of positions; sideways, behind my neck for extra support, between my knees, behind my back, etc. I have problems with pillows being too "soft" or giving... Like, you put your head on it, and all the air lets out and you are basically just laying on the bed! what's the point!? Even the extra firm pillows are that way. I also have a memory foam pillow, but that is TOOO HARD! gahhh, is there no middle-ground!? So that's where my little neck buddy comes into play. I like putting my head on it, it's so soft, and i can mold it to whatever orientation that will make me comfortable in the moment. I'm a side-sleeper, so this helps me be able to sleep on my side without hurting my neck worse. I'm not saying this thing is the best thing in the world, but it definitely has become part of my nightly "bedding accessories" haha. Pros: -Once it's hot, it STAYS hot for a while. -Smells like fresh cookies are in the oven when you heat it up! mmmm -Super soft -HEAVY! -Solid! -Loop helps keep it on your neck, freeing your hands. Cons: - Takes way longer than it says to heat the wrap up to a temperature that's hot enough for me to call "hot" and/or helpful for my neck pain.

Good pack - I exchanged it for a smaller, lighter one
This heating pack was easy to microwave, kept its heat for a good length of time and the smell was pleasant and not overwhelming. I bought the neck and shoulder wrap which weighs 2.2 lbs. I found that for my build and neck issues it was too heavy. When I called SunnyBay I interacted with a very helpful customer service person who offered to send me the smaller size rectangular pack which weighs 1.1 lb. This is very comfortable for me. I will pass on the longer pack to someone who is more able to tolerate its weight. I really appreciated the customer service I received from Sharon!

Quality manufacture and effective heating but can't handle the burnt smell
I bought this neck warmer for my wife because we had repeated issues with the quality of the stitching on another brand, it was letting the flaxseed leak out and required constant repair. We were impressed with the quality manufacture of this product, as well as its feel, but like some others found the burnt odor intolerable (she has high sensitivity to smells). To provide the heat she needs on her shoulders, the recommended 1:40 period in the microwave is too little, yet exceeding it burns the contents inside.

Very good quality
It works great I am very happy with this damp heat neck pad. The price was good and the quality is great. I really like the weight of it so it stays in place around the neck. I would recommend this item. Shipping was fast.
