Model 151 Universal Electric Knife Sharpener, Stainless Steel

I own a couple of very good $100 non electric sharpeners for Asian angle knives, that I've been very happy about. So I didn't expect much at all from this when I received it from my wife for Christmas. Boy was I wrong. I'm shocked at how much better the edges come out w/ this, especially that they are so much sharper than the results from the other top rated non electric sharpeners I own. This Chef's Choice Asian knife sharpener has three levels of sharpening. But it actually has six slots, because on each level, it sharpens one side of the blade at a time. So two slots for each level. That's really the only way to guarantee the correct angle, but almost no one else does that. The last level is actually a strop! Wow, talk about putting a pro finish on your blades. I've never seen that in an electric sharpener. And it does Serrated knives too! Plus it can also take German knives to the sharper Asian angle. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! Not only will you get the best results, but there are different instructions for Seratted of course, and even if for if you're cutting specific types of food all the time w/ certain of your knives. It tells you how to get the best edge for that type of cutting. And they explain why you're doing what in each situation, so it's a really good tutorial to on how to sharpen. The culmination of all these things made me realize that the reason this electric knife sharpener sharpens so much better than the other is not an accent. It's designed better by true knife sharpening professionals, and built better. So of course the results are better. This is a totally worthwhile investment to get the best out of your expensive knives.

Sharpener is very easy to use provided your first read and follow the instructions in the operating manual. High recommend taking a practice pull or two at each o9f the 3 sharpening stages as suggested in the operating manual. I easily converted my 20-degree knives to a 15-degree cutting angle and sharpened all of my expensive German and Asian knives in under 30 minutes. Although not advertised as such except for the outer case the steel-clad model 151 and the plastic-clad Trizor XV model are exactly the same macihine as far as functionality and performance is concernedl

Does a great job sharpening knives for sure. Not sure how long it will last or how many knives it will sharpen. that is still to be determined. Happy with the purchase so far.

I received the knife with the wrong instruction Manual. The one that came with it was DOBETTER TRIM ROUTER along with OCUNOVIS PROCARE Eye drops with Amino Acid for dogs & cats that needs a Vets ok. Crazy, right?
