LOVE THE LID
This was bought with a specific use in mind, and it works perfectly. it IS small, but it's exactly what we needed. great for a young kids room, or a spare bathroom that might not get as much trash traffic. Perfect that it has a lid to keep things contained

Works
Not worth $20, but it was the only one available for my bathroom's needs. I don't like an open trash can in my bathroom. I don't like looking at what others or I have thrown away every time I enter my bathroom. It is small, but I measured it according to the details given, so I knew it would be. I knew it was thin plastic from the reviews. I also purchase black plastic trash bags, 2-gallon size. Fit's good. Enough room to tie when I take the bag out.

Good quality. Made in Canada.
We've bought four of these over several years. They are perfect small trash cans for bathrooms. We also have one in our office kitchenette. We work from home and have a kid and pets, so these trash cans see a lot of use, and they are still in great condition.

tape a penny or a little piece of metal to the inside of each side, the swivel lid works better
I would have given it five stars. I shouldn't have gotten the Galaxy one because it looks like just white spots so it just looks like you want to dust it off. But also the swivel lid kept staying kind of open on one side. However, I taped a penny to the inside of each side and it worked pretty good. It weighed it down a little bit more. Other than that, it's a pretty good trash can. Perfect size

Great for mini plastics for recycling
I bought this for mini plastics in my kitchen, which a group in my neighborhood is now collecting so that we don't put them into the landfill or the regular recycling. It's so cute and it works like a charm.

Defective Design and Poor Quality
Don’t buy this. This item isn’t worth purchasing. The swinging lid is uneven and doesn’t operate smoothly and I’m not the only one with this issue. Several other buyers reported receiving theirs in the same condition. See pictures for reference.

Lid is a tad loose the kids have put things in and had the swinging part of the lid pop off. Easily reinstalled but a pain here and there. No regrets though maybe it happens once a month. No biggie. Much cheaper and better quality than in store.

I was initially excited about the Umbra Mini Waste Can with its sleek bronze finish and swing lid design. It seemed like the perfect compact solution for my office space, where I intended to use it for light waste like paper scraps and snack wrappers. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The first issue I encountered was with the swing lid. It's not as functional as I had hoped. The lid often gets stuck in an awkward position, either not fully closing or swinging too freely, which is a hassle when you're trying to keep things tidy and odor-free. This design flaw has been a constant annoyance. Moreover, the size, although I knew it was a mini can, turned out to be more impractical than I imagined. The 1-1/2 gallon capacity is simply too small, requiring frequent emptying, which I find inconvenient, especially during busy days. This has only added to my daily chores rather than making life easier as I had hoped. The material, while looking stylish with its bronze finish, also didn't meet my expectations. It's not as durable as it looks; the can easily dents and scratches, diminishing its aesthetic appeal over a short period. This was disappointing, considering I chose it partly for its looks. Finally, the price point, in hindsight, feels unjustified given the issues I've faced. There are certainly more affordable options out there that could have met my needs without these drawbacks. In summary, the Umbra Mini Waste Can has been a letdown. From its less-than-ideal functionality to its impractical size and questionable durability, it has not lived up to my expectations. I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an efficient and stylish waste solution.
