Comfortable bag. Great straps and space. Customizable to dial in fit. It’s a good balance comfort, ruggedness, looks, and storage versatility. It’s my new go-to camera bag of the 5 I own.

Very well-designed camera backpack. The dividers and materials are excellent. I gave it as a gift to someone who owns several professional camera bags, and he loved it.

Excellent traveling backpack and fit everything I needed like my camera, computer and much much more. Although the 35L is very big I would purchase the 30L next time so that I could bring it through Europe as a carryon but other than that its perfect. Really in awe of this product. It does get heavy when packed full so be prepared for that.

I was thinking about giving this bag 3 stars but after 4 years with the bag I must say it is amazing quality. I am removing a star because mine game with a defect that I had to fix using some safety pins. The top inner pocket was torn leaving a massive hole and it was torn at the seems. I couldn't return it because I ordered it while I was in America and I am no longe there so I need to ship things to a company that then sends it to my country so I kept it. That is the only issue I had and it was probably a manufacturing issue. I love traveling with the back and it does have a wire frame to keep it's shape at the back and make it look tall and you can remove it easily. The best thing about it is the no matter how much weight is in the bag it still feels comfortable. This is the only bag you need as a traveling photographer. I can't give a 5 stars because of the defect mine came with even though I fixed it myself. Also after 4 years the bag still looks new and I've done a lot of traveling and hikes with it shame the one defect ruined a 5 stars

This is my third shimoda bag. I have 2 larger ones, different style and previous generation. I had no doubts this bag would live up to those. Well, it surpassed them. They’ve put more thought into the layout, compartments and ergonomics to this bag. I had it out today at a waterfall and had it in dirt, silt, a little mud, briars, branches, moss, etc. the mud and dirt wiped off easily. The zippers were easy to manipulate even with cold, wet hands. I don’t think I’ll ever need another bag. I don’t think shimoda can out do what they’ve done here.

I've tried multiple bags, what photographer hasn't, and this 35L is just perfect. Most comfortable and fits my Z9, Zf, and 7 lenses, along with many other items. Somebody else in the reviews here said their Z9 would not fit, they must not have had the correct DSLR insert. If you have the mirrorless insert that is less deep. But both the Med and Large DSLR cores are deep enough for the Z9 to stand up with a lens. And this bag is made for these cores. And can standup other lenses like the 24-120, 85, 105, etc. or lay down the 100-400 easily.

Initially I purchased the X50 Action and it is a lot of backpack. I was not feeling right about this piece of gear. I then realized the smaller X35 Explore has the same medium core insert and can be carried-on a commercial flight. Glad I decided to return the X50. I like the compartment layout on the smaller pack it's more travel friendly with space passports. Very happy. I also own the Lowepro Tactical Packs, the smaller and the larger sizes. The lowepro packs are great, twice the volume for gear but don't offer extra space for important items you may need for your hike like clothing and other items.

This is a special camera backpack, versatile and with a lot of options for customization. I don't think I'll be buying another camera backpack for a long time.

Bag has alot of pockets. Camera compartment has been able to fit my camera setup and other travel lens. Served its purpose well. Although I should have buy 1 size smaller as this big bag is not accepted by some low cost carriers as carry on luggage.
