2 Pack - Black Monteverde Soft Roll Ballpoint for Cross Ballpoint Pens

I was gifted a handmade pen. The refill was not working. I ordered this for the pen and it fit and worked perfectly.

Cross "Classic" Pen

These write better than regular Cross ballpoint refills, though not quite as well as other "advanced ink" refills such as Jetstream, Zebra or Parker Quinkflow. Still, they are the best available for Cross and, if you are particular about writing as I am, and use a Cross ballpoint, these are worth buying.

I am so pleased with this refill. I fell in love with a Caroline Gardner pen and was crushed when it ran out of ink. Thankfully, I found this refill, which writes more smoothly than the original ink that came with my pen. I was glad not to have to throw away a nice pen. Cross inks are absolutely terrible, so I wanted to get an alternative. I found that while the Monteverde ink is darker than Cross, it still skips and clumps just as much. I would recommend this over Cross, but I'm waiting for the day that Schmidt makes a Cross-style cartridge like this. That or I just shouldn't use my Cross pen.

I was under the impression that these refills were the best. When you start writing they skip and are inconsistent. Others have said stick with original Cross brand which I think I'm going to have to do.
