Neiko High Visibility Safety Vest ANSI Class 2, No Pocket, Neon Yellow, Large (L)

This is a great vest for the price. I bought this vest for use as a bicycle commuter, and it vastly increases my visibility in both nighttime and daytime. I used it daily for the last 4.5 months. Vests are extremely versatile since they can be used over any clothing in both warm and cold weather. Durability: The zipper is pretty tough and has given me no problems. The material has frayed a bit around the neck and chest area where the velcro on my jacket catches it, but it doesn't seem to be causing any major problems. The reflective strips have stayed on and shown no signs of peeling off. Overall, it is pretty well made. Fit: I usually wear a medium for my shirts and jackets, and am closer to a large size than to a small. I was wearing this in the winter over both a warm mid layer wool shirt and a rain/wind outer jacket. The large fit perfectly over them; fitted but not tight. I have also worn it on warm days over just a t-shirt and it is a tad loose but still fits fine. Visibility: The bright yellow makes me much more visible in the daytime and other low-light situations. Meanwhile, the reflective strips work wonders at night and any time that vehicles have their lights on. My wife, who rides with me, has testified to how bright it is. I have also noticed fewer vehicles seeming to not notice me on the road. I highly recommend that anyone who commutes on a bike get a vest or jacket with a large amount of both bright material and reflective material. The bright color helps in all situations, including when cars don't have their lights aimed at you, while the reflective stips greatly increase your visibility when they do. Don't rely on only active lights since large bright objects are much more attention grabbing and easier to position. Use both bright clothing and active lights. Conclusion: This is a cheap and effective vest that really makes you stand out in traffic. It is perfect for a bicycle commuter who wants something cheap, durable, and versatile that will also keep you alive and injury free.

I bought this for walking the dog in the evenings and it does its job. The yellow is bright and noticeable and the reflective tape works great when car headlights hit it. I bought mine to fit over both my husband's and my jacket so we can rotate depending on who is walking the dog or if both of us go out together one of us has it on to protect all of us. We walk in the rain frequently as we live in Seattle and while it is not water resistant, it still dries quickly and reflects even when wet. I like the zipper on the vest and have had no problems with it. I think if I were to purchase again I would get one with pockets if that were an option. I can still easily access my coat pockets with the vest on so it is not a major deal, I just like extra pockets! Overall, I just feel safer walking at dusk and night with this on and I appreciate others who also wear reflective gear when they are the pedestrians and I am the driver. Update Feb 15, 2020: Almost 3 year update. This vest is going strong! The color is still bright despite having the neighbor's dog jump all over me with muddy paws. The reflective strips work fantastically and haven't faded or cracked at all. The zipper has worked 100% of the time with no hangups ever. I wear this vest twice a day in all weather. I have since changed my mind- it doesn't need pockets. The neighbors all recognize me from my vest and comment how much they love it. I think this is one of the best things I've purchased for our twice daily walks. The other is a glowing collar for the dog.

Light and highly visible.

Everyone that is one the streets and not in a car -- walkers, runners, bikers, etc -- should wear one of these. I've had people stop me on the street while I was walking to thank me for wearing this so they can see me. I even wear it during the day now and still get comments. Buy much larger than you think as it seems to run a bit small and you want plenty of room for coats underneath.

Very good quality! This reflection tape jacket comes in the obvious lime green colour and has a full front zipper. The fabric is a strong, but light mesh weave of sturdy polyester. Lightweight, I ordered mine in size XXL to fit over a coat in cooler winter or evenings. The reason I purchased this vest comes from a head-on collision that took place mere seconds in front of me this summer. Vehicles still tried to navigate through the carnage and it was a dangerous situation on a highway that using Neiko Safety Vest would have made advantageous. recommended!
