A Year of Creative Writing Prompts

I got this for my 11 year old who loves to write. It’s a great addition to her school work. I like how each part of the day is broken up. So if I want her to work on more creative writing, I give her a prompt for that. If I want her to focus on 1st person perspective, a prompt for that. She also like the freedom this gives her to take a topic and make it her own, verses how some writing prompts now you in more. I’m very glad I bought this for her.

The book was not what I expected. I originally thought this was a prompt journal that allows you to write in the book. It’s more of textbook filled with prompts. I’ll need a separate journal to write. The prompts are interesting so not a total loss.

I have bought several books on writing, including several on writing prompts. This one is hands down the best one of the bunch. This book alone has inspired me to write more than any other book I have in my library. They did a fantastic job. In the layout and design of the book. In the content. Everything. It is rich with all types of writing prompts. Organized beautifully, too. I'm so glad I bought the physical copy. They did a wonderful job with it. I may get the ebook as well just so I have it with me always, wherever I am. You can tell this book was put together by people who loved the process of this project, who put this book together as they would want it themselves. This book was created with love, no doubt. Masterpiece of inspiration.

It’s hard to find a book of writing prompts that is not theme based. This one deliverers. Topic starters for those working on a novel, looking for story starters or writing in a journal.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I have been in a bit of slump for the past year and this book has changed everything. I look forward to writing now. The fun and whimsical nature of these prompts drove me to exercise my fiction muscle.I would also recommend this book for young aspiring writers. My son is 7 y.o. and he likes to write, so I thumb through and find him some prompts. Sometimes, we write on the same prompt and share each other's story. An older student might follow the regimen of morning, midday, dinner.Thank you, Love In Ink, crew. Your love is fully accepted and appreciated.

After searching through several bookstores and scouring online for a book of writing prompts I wanted to give a friend as a gift, I took a chance on this book. I was so happy when I received it to discover that the prompts were varied in subject and open ended enough to facilitate creativity. I also liked that the prompts were organized not just by day, but by subject at the back and that there were different types of prompts: short five minute, word association, and longer prompts.

Having committed to writing even a bit every day, this book is a helpful tool. Without quibbling, judging, thinking, I get my topic and start writing words that come up for me. Some days I get 5 minutes, other days I tool along, a long while. The point is, I’m writing every day.

I liked the diversity of the prompts. What I didn't like was how a lot of them seemed to make me think of ideas that had been used. Example: There were a lot of wolf ones that immediately made me think werewolf. Would still recommend it to those struggling with ideas.

I have to say that on ordering this book after reading the good reviews I was excited to receive it, but when it did arrive it wasnt how I expected, so I returned this for a refund. Instead I purchased the 'When Suddenly Book Of Mystery Writing Prompts' which was reduced to less than £7, so was cheaper, & it arrived today & is much better as it's more interactive & thought provoking.

Received this originally as a leaving gift from my previous job. Brilliant id.eas to jump start your brain into writing a short story or longer story that I have bought a copy for my niece for Christmas

great book inspired some creative writing ideas.

Estableciendo de antemano que las artes creativas no tienen formulas ni sistemas que funcionan para todos, este libro particularmente no me funcionó para nada.Las sugerencias (prompts), son literalmente sugerencias muy vagas cómo "escribe sobre una taza en el lavabo, desde la perspectiva de la esponja", si, quizá te ponga a divagar en posibilidades, sobre quizá un romance que se pueda desarrollar y sólo llega cada determinado tiempo, hasta que un día, la taza se rompe, la esponja se desgasta o X o Y... Pero para lo que lo necesito - guiones cinematográficos - son muy poco útiles.Sin embargo, si eres un estudiante de letras y quieres ser escritor de prosa, o simplemente tienes mucho tiempo libre para desarrollar guiones sin posibilidad de producción, seguro encuentras mucho valor en ello.

El artículo llegó en tiempo y forma para el cumpleaños de mi novio (el es escritor) y al principio le gustó mucho pero ahora está en nuestra librería y nunca lo utiliza. ¿Qué les digo? Si van a comprarlo, asegurense de usarlo y aprovecharlo al 100% ya que es super bueno para incentivar la creatividad. (No sean como mi novio)
