I have a Burris fast fire red dot on a Smith 517 10 shot 22 ( yes a revolver!) Compact scope, compact base. Worth every penny

If you are adding this to an x frame use loctight.
Well made. Works well.Had it shake lose under recoil with heavy recoil and a stout optic.Used blue loctight and that stopped. The recoil lug on my optic is footprinting the front hole counter sink. Squashing it in a bit.If one ever was made of steel I would buy one.

Clean look, Easy to install!
I put this on my Smith and Wesson 460XVR and then mounted a SIG romeo 5. It’s a clean setup that really increases my accuracy on the range and in the field. I would certainly recommend and I may order another one to go on my 686.
