2nd Order is Perfect
I initially ordered this set in June 2022. What I received was one disc in a plastic bag and no other discs. I really wanted all five of these movies. 1 star! I was really frustrated with the vendor but decided to take a chance again. Lightening can't strike twice, right? I ordered again January 2024 and received all five movies in the proper case, shrinked-wrapped. All discs matched; no mix matched movies thrown together. All five play properly and went straight into my NAS. Better late than never. 5 stars!!

Classic Movie Collection is a must
As a movie buff I had to check this out. I read the Caine Mutiny a few years ago (and book version is different in some ways) but the film has such a great host of actors that it rivals any of the best "war pictures." I've also been after Das Boot: the theatrical release, which not like its bloated, extended cut is hard to find. I was real satisfied with the quality of all movies, even on the b/w From Here to Eternity. Menu options are good as well. This 5-in-1 box selection has great value... Only thing was the case had cracks in it from shelf wear or being dropped once, but there's always the unexpected, isn't there?Printed in the U.S. 2014 Sony Production

Great Value for a basic DVD/TV setup!
I was a little skeptical about getting 5 movies in one purchase at such a low price. I was particularly interested in 'Das Boot", as I bought that used individually through a used goodwill seller. Took that purchase "on the chin"---it did Not play. This purchase was an EXCELLENT purchase. Now I only use your basic old school DVD player---for that setup---this cannot be beat in value!

A Great Collection of Some of the Best Critically Acclaimed WWII Movies
This set of movies may no longer be in production, but if you can find it - buy it! The cinematography is fantastic, no "special effects" to detract or divert your attention from fine acting, scripts and story lines. I just wish this collection was available in the newest 4K UHD format, but most modern Bluray and DVD players automatically up-convert video to give you a better viewing experience on large screen TVs. [If you have a small TV display (<50") the lack of 4K UHD capability of these DVDs probably won't be noticed. those attributes tend to be more important on larger displays.]

A good selection at a good price
You already know the content if you are buying this. This review is about the merchandise. The package arrived on time and undamaged. The disks were secure in the case. If I remember correctly there IS closed captioning. The video and audio are clear on my high-def TV and I had no complaints. There are no bad places in any of the movies as I recall. Overall a good buy.

Perfect Edition!
My husband wanted to see "Das Boot" but I could only find it on Blu Ray which won't work on our non-Blu Ray machine. For almost the same price, I found this disc which holds Das Boot and four more movies. Das Bootwas clean and clear and he enjoyed it 100%. Looking forward to viewing the other movies.

Das Boat is worth the purchase
Das Boat is the best every war submarine movie ever made. As well done as 1917. The other 2 movies are very old and a throw in for Das Boat. MUST SEE!

Unviewable
Though ordered in the EUROPEAN UNION and delivered to my home in the EUROPEAN UNION, the films cannot be viewed due to the wrong regional code! A waste of my money, a shameless cheat.

DVD Set Is a Good Deal --- But Don't Expect Blu-Ray Quality
All 5 films in this collection are considered classics and each deserves a 4 or 5 star rating. Getting all 5 DVD's (each film on its own DVD) for $20 CDN is great value. However, the image quality is just OK at best. Another pet peeve I have with most of the DVD's is that the dialogue is often too low and battle sounds too loud, so I have to keep adjusting the volume. That's a common problem with many film mixes, even today, so it's not unique to this set.The Bridge Over River Kwai DVD is finicky in spots, at least in my player. It plays but the image partially cuts in and out during one scene around 35-38 minutes into the film. I bought this set mainly for one film, The Caine Mutiny (with Humphrey Bogart). The individual DVD price was $17 and the Blu-ray was $22. It made sense to pay $3 more and get the other 4 films as well. All 5 films have since been remastered and released on Blu-ray. I'd much prefer to have the Blu-rays but the cheapest prices I could find on Amazon would total to $82 CDN for the 5 Blu-rays. All things considered, this $20 DVD set is a great value and worth 4 stars.
