Is this a good product are they reliable ?

This product is phenomenal. One of the best features of this product is that it will communicate over any two conductors whether the cable has been wired properly or not. It will find the remote identify the remote and then diagnose the pin out of both connectors

What types of network cable tests are supported?

I have personally tested cat5, cat5e, Cat6, and cat7. I would have to imagine it works with anything 8pin w/ rj45 end.

The device has an unexplained display mode where it shows all pairs connected, but it flashes multiple pairs on the display. What is the meaning?

based on recent experience with a fluke tester, this could be due to using a CAT5 RJ45 connector on a CAT6 cable. I had the fluke tester display the same flashing on all pairs. Once I installed the correct connector the issue was resolved.

Do there units have an auto off feature? My biggest problem is mt techs leave them on.
