This keyboard has turned out to be just what I needed. I have a lap top with Vista that still runs very well, but the keyboard on it has seen better days. Some of the keys stick, and others just stopped working. Some time ago I set up the lap top to be on a shelf with a USB board down in front of me. The one I have been using was purchased at Staples and larger, has old time keys that require a lot of travel, and generally is cheap and frustrating. I sprang for this one that is actually cheaper in price than the one I have been using and couldn't be happier. I like the compact design after using the keyboard on my laptop for so many years, and especially the keys on it that are larger, flatter, and much more like the one on the actually lap top that I was so used too. Setting this up was a breeze. Even with my old laptop I just plugged it in and less than 10 seconds later it was hot...As mentioned before in some other reviews, the num lock is activated with every boot up, as well as when first plugging it in. But that was easily remedied by pressing the FN plus NUM-LCK key at the same time as was suggested. As for it being a plug in, with the set up I have here that isn't any problem since the cord on it just falls behind the table and never in the way. I prefer it over a wireless that needs batteries and can sometimes lose the connection. One last thing. The feet on this are of a nice rubber that really keep it held in place. My other keyboard had so called footing on it but left a lot to be desired. I even added a non skid pads to my other one and it still wasn't as good as this is. Overall this keyboard is really nice quality, the perfect size I wanted, and very comfortable to use.. For a compact wired unit, they don't come any better for the price...Highly recommended..

After reading reviews on all kinds of mini keyboards on Amazon, I decided on this keyboard to use with my tablet, which has a full-sized USB port. PROS: -better than my fancy bluetooth keyboard -lightweight, fairly compact -spacious, with dedicated del, home, pg up, pg down, end keys -inexpensive CONS: -makes clickity-clackity noises (if this bothers you or others) -wired (if you're looking for WIRELESS keyboards. yes the picture is misleading, but I wanted a WIRED one) I owned a bluetooth keyboard, but when I used it, it would lag a lot, skip around, and think that I held down keys for longer than I did. Like "thissssss." The Perixx PERIBOARD-407B, Mini Keyboard worked like a charm - mainly because it was WIRED, which meant it has no problems "talking" to the tablet. I can be confident that what I type is registered immediately. It was a huge plus that the keyboard comes with dedicated home, pg up, pg down, end, delete, and backspace buttons, which I thought was worth the larger frame. A lot of the smaller keyboards sacrifice these and replace them with the function-buttons, which is a hastle. The keys are meaty but not hard to press. The keys also have a satisfying sound; it's NOT silent as some people prefer, but I like hearing the keys when I type. It adds assurance. I prefer this to those ultra-slim mac-inspired keyboards that feel flimsy; though if you're a self-conscious person in a dead-silent library, I can understand how they might be "too loud." I use mine mostly from the comfort of my bed, but have used it in small tea houses without anyone staring at me. The cord is about 4.25 feet long, which is longer than I needed for use with my tablet (I could have been fine with 1 foot, but I'm not complaining.) I wrap up the excess with a tie and can tape it to the bottom of the keyboard. It's not the prettiest solution but I don't think $14 buys much elegance. The size of the keyboard makes it feel scaped-out enough, unlike some of the other minis that are very cramped. It fits in my laptop bag easily, and is surprisingly lightweight. Now the best part: The price. $14 when I bought it, probably goes on sale for $12. Low enough price so that I'm not concerned with it getting accidentally scratched or dropped on the ground. Sometiems I cram it into my overpacked laptop bag with books and a tablet, and am not worried about the keys getting jostled or smashed. It's not so cheap that I think it'll conk out on me anytime soon either.

I've had this product only for about 1.5months. It is going fine so far. Installation is nothing. Hook it up and ready to go. I like this keyboard very much for the very standard key arrangement. The large "Enter" and "Shift" keys are must for me. The Space key is not the longest but just right. Many concise keyboards have the "Ctrl" buttons at awkward positions but this one not. The arrow keys, Page Up, Down, Home End are all on the right side which is NOT the same as my full keyboard but at least there. Also what I like is the big "Backspace" key which was a tiny key in my previous mini keyboard. Everything is there where and in the size you expect, which is very important to me. Of course it doesn't have the numeric key pads. Thus this small size which I benefit from very much. One thing I'm not too excited about is the key feel. First, I like the "travel" it has. My previous mini-keyboard was much like one from a laptop computer which was very thin and there was only little travel. Resting your finger tips sometimes resulted in misspelling so you catch yourself being cautious all the time. This one has a lot longer travel so I feel more "secure" (Very important, too). However, the feel is sort of MUSHY. The key only offers a rather simple resistance. It does not have the resistance peak before you hit the stroke end. Some good full size keyboards have this "Resistance peak before the end" feel which offer nice secure feeling of typing pleasure. This one does not have that feeling. But I gladly take this product for what it is and how much it is. I recommend this product if your keyboard space is limited.

Now keep in mind that I am not that tech savy, but for a class I have to boot off of a jump drive from my windows 8 machine in to Linux. I needed a cheap keyboard for that class because I do a lot of typing and my machine's touchpad is so sensitive and is placed just so, so that even if my wrist barely touches it and my pointer happens to be on a window that is open in the background, I will jump to that window and interrupt my work. I was a little hesitant about this keyboard because in the product description it did not mention that if would work with Linux, just the listed 3 or 4 windows OS. But the price was good and I figured I could still use the keyboard for window's applications. Turns out it does work with Linux so that is a big plus! And although it says it is only compatible with those windows OS, I plugged it into my wife's ancient 2006 MacBook, which I think that it is still on it's first OS, never upgraded and the keyboard worked as well. Other pros are its price, its size (I could probably pack this with my laptop and take it to class, though I probably won't because I don't want to be that guy) and the fact that it doesn't require any drivers that you need to install, you just plug it in and go. As far as cons go, there isn't much that I can say, other than the fact that the keys look a little goofy, not streamlined like my laptops keyboard, but I will gladly trade looks to solve the problem I have been having. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a cheap alternative for their laptop or desktop. You can't go wrong with this keyboard.

After more mechanical and "gaming" keyboards than I care to admit, i prefer the feel of typing on rubber dome models like this (short of very high quality scissor boards). I also do a lot of gaming but nothing that will require more than the varying 5-key rollover that seems to be present on this board. I also like 65% boards which this more or less fits. Dedicated f-row and full size arrow keys. Wired. Not the slimmest board i've used but way more comfy than typing on the bulky mechanicals. This might be the only board I've found that fits all of those, so unless this craps out soon (will update) its exactly what I've been looking for. If I'm pressed for a single complaints its that i'd prefer no Fn key or layer at all with full sized ctrl-win-alt keys, but that's near impossible to avoid on this form factor. A+ after the first week. 1 month update: zero key wear or new issues 16 month update: got some gunk behind the spacebar. standard philips head screws on the back, but one hidden underneath a sticker, and was able to get it apart and give it a good cleaning with some rubbing alcohol. back together and running 100%. After 16 months and probably 1500 steam hours at least, still working great. only half of the S key has worn off, otherwise key labels are in great shape.

I purchased this keyboard back in April 2017 to replace my full-sized Logitech K270, and it was my daily driver at work for a year and nine months (see UPDATE below). Perixx omitted the 10-keypad and relocated the cursor/navigation keys to a single column on the far-right, significantly reducing the overall width of the keyboard (compared to its full-sized brethren). This reduces the distance my right arm must move when switching between typing and controlling the mouse, which was the primary reason I purchased it in the first place. I purchased the wired model for several reasons: 1) The wired model costs less than the wireless equivalent; 2) I'm using it at a static desktop workstation 100% of the time; 3) My Logitech MX Master mouse has already had problems with interference coming from my workstation's USB 3.0 ports (had to buy a USB extension cable to move the dongle away from the 3.0 ports and closer to my mouse); and 4) The idea of having two separate dongles for my keyboard and mouse just felt ridiculous. Regarding the overall keyboarding experience, there's nothing remarkably good or bad to report. It's an inexpensive keyboard with membrane switches. Compared to your basic cheap wired keyboard that comes for free with a Dell workstation, the Perixx keyboard requires slightly less physical travel (but slightly more force) to actuate keys while providing slightly more audible and tactile feedback when keys are released (it's not noticeably loud, but this is not a 'silent' keyboard). I can touch-type with very little effort, though I wish the home key "bumps" on the [F] and [J] keys were more pronounced. The only disadvantages are pretty minor: 1) Due to some unconventional key placement, I occasionally mash the [Fn] key when I mean to press the [Windows] key. I've resolved this by affixing a tiny square of gaffer's tape to the [Windows] key, so I can differentiate it from the [Fn] key by feel. 2) The multimedia functions don't have their own keys (you must hold the [Fn] key while pressing the corresponding F-key to control multimedia features). This isn't so much a shortcoming; it's part of the design to keep the footprint small, but I've found it to be enough of a hassle that I just use my mouse to raise/lower volume or switch tracks on my playlists. 3) This keyboard is purely USB plug-and-play (no additional software included or available), so there's no easy way to re-assign multimedia shortcuts or re-map unused keys to other functions (I've used AutoHotKey to re-map the [CapsLock] key so that pressing it launches Windows Task View). 4) After over a year of use, the printed labels on several keys have worn away. 5) Uhhhhh.... It's not mechanical or even scissor-switch...? But for the price, I can hardly complain. In summary, this is a solid choice if you're looking for a space saving non-specialty keyboard or trying to up your ergonomic game a bit. It's lasted far longer than I expected. 2019-01-25 UPDATE: After 21 months of near-daily use, the keyboard has developed intermittent issues with several keys not registering when I press them (most notably the left [Ctrl] key), so I've replaced it with a Velocifire tenkeyless mechanical keyboard. Bummer, but still not bad at all for $17.

I like this keyboard. Best ever? Of course not. Great value? Absolutely. My personal preference is the Apple-style low-profile, low-effort keyboard style. This is about 2/3 of that: the keys are a bit taller, smaller, overall not as well-built, at a fraction of the price. If you prefer a tall, clicky, mechanical keyboard, this is not the one for you. For the price point it's exactly what I wanted. It looks fine. Keys require little effort, have short travel, quiet but not silent. The choice of extra keys is just right: I need Ctrl and Alt available to both hands for keyboard shortcuts, and I use print screen, delete, home/end, page up/down, and arrows a lot. Downsides: the keys have just a little wobble. Wish the keycaps were a bit larger. It's all plastic, so I dont expect it to last more than a few years of daily use. For the price, it's excellent.

I'm rating this keyboard 5 stars. I ordered this keyboard on May 31st, And received it on jun 9th. (Free shipping from over $49 purchase) When looking at the package, at first I was a bit sceptical about the product thinking it was a Chinese knock-off due to the sticker on the left. (see picture #1 & #2) the package itself was in excellent condition and was not damaged at all. Upon opening, the box contained (1) USB wired keyboard, and (1) User manual. (Pics #3 & #4) After that intense moment of peeling the plastic off, this (pics #5 & #6) is what you get, a slim beautiful simple keyboard. The keys are flat which is preferred, smooth with rounded edges and the white letters don't scratch off easily. It plugs right in and after installing the driver software works perfectly. It types in English, and the sound of typing is soft and quite enough to use for hours. There also is no lag when typing. It has a slim profile and sits nicely and lights up in the corner when certain keys are in use. (Pics 7-10) Overall I love this keyboard and would recommend it every time for anyone looking for a keyboard on a budget. Update!: it's been a month and still no problems.

da ich den Num-Block nicht nutze, habe ich mich bis jetzt ueber mein breites Original-Keyboard geaergert: der Weg von der Maus zur Tastatur war 'ewig' weit und bei 9 bis 12 Stunden Arbeit am PC pro Tag schon laestig. Das Periboard ist, da der Num-Block fehlt, echt schmal, dazu recht flach. Also klappts jetzt zwischen Maus und Tastatur deutlich besser. Das Periboard selbst macht einen qualitativ hochwertigen Eindruck und funktioniert bestens. Dazu ists es noch recht guenstig. Also fuer alle zu empfehlen, die keinen Num-Block brauchen.

El teclado es muy basico, pero por este precio está muy bien. Es un teclado que uso ocasionalmente y cumple su funcion. Tacto suave, no hay que presionar apenas.

This keyboard looks exactly the same as my old keyboard (bought in 2012) but of a different brand name - Genius. I'm so glad to have found this keyboard as I'm so used to the touch and it's compact. My old one was spoilt (R key malfunction) and I was searching for a similar one and was so happy to find this one - exactly the same! :)

We bought a new laptop and discovered that, unlike our old Lenovo Thinkpad, the computer had a full keyboard, that is, with a number pad. This triggered the search for an external keyboard without that pesky NumPad. The Perixx turned out to be an extremely economical and satisfactory solution -- a lightweight and compact keyboard that works well with our new laptop. No question about it, it's a cheaply made keyboard -- but it does what it needs to, and the price is definitely right. Not for anyone wanting a fancy keyboard, and for all we know at the moment, for anyone wanting a keyboard that lasts. We'll have to wait and see about the durability, but in all other respects, the PEIRBOARD-407B satisfies.

This keyboard cannot keep up with my key presses. The s key and spacebar key do not register all key presses. Seems low quality
