Listen, I only got this because I needed a case bad and I lost my old one in a move, just found this case after it slipped out of my pocket and got ran over by my brother, but the thing still works! My phone thought they were new AirPods for a second after but both AirPods still work and if I just put the top on the headphones then it’ll still act like the case is closed Battery life only lasts a day but that’s honestly fine Good bang for your buck, especially if you work construction.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Worked great while it lasted. Longer than or battery life. Unfortunately, this one died after only 2 months and now won’t hold a charge. Just needed it to last until the next pods pro launch. Ugh.

great product, lighter than the original which i found nice. battery life was good. i think it would do around three charges before the case would die. black was nice too i never liked the white. ive dropped several times where the lid exploded off the main body. popped right back every time. finally stopped working after i accidentaly put them through the washing machine. they still get power but dont a charge. buying another case because it was well worth it

The build quality or hand feel is fine. It doesn't feel as cheap to me as some reviews alluded. The hinge, for example, is fine. It's less well-fabricated than the Apple version, like 99.99% of all manufactured goods. The idea of a multicolored status light is amazing! However, either it's trying to communicate too many things, or I'm an idiot. Possibly I'm too left-brained to interpret a meaning from green slow blinking versus blue fast pulsing. (I decided green slow blinking means "I don't want to be on the wireless charger right now" but not necessarily that it's done charging. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I had an awkward time pairing. It wasn't as easy as tapping the button on the front, and I found myself reaching for the instructions to confirm how to enter pairing mode. I would recommend forgetting the old case before pairing a new one. The first charge was awkward and took about 10 hours. I think in the end that it needed to go on the charger without the pods for a full first charge, then charge the pods in the case. I don't know. If I had it to do over again, I would do the first charge with a lightning cable instead of wireless. The second charge (with earbuds) seemed more normal. (I topped it up for about an hour and went from about 70% to full.) However, on both the first and second charges, my airpods came out hot. More than a little warm. I could handle them. Nothing was melting. And it actually felt nice in my ears but ear warming isn't supposed to be an airpod feature. I shouldn't have left them in for the second charge. I wrote off the heat the first time to the odd all-day charging experience. I won't put my pods in the case again.
