Saved My Fridge
When my small refrigerator stopped cooling after 22 years of service, I had few hopes for bringing it back to life. I determined that it needed a thermostat, but the OEM version was priced at around $75, but I was unable to find one anywhere. This $9 replacement thermostat did the trick. It arrived in about 3 days, much faster than predicted. The refrigerator is now working like new and hopefully is ready for another 22 years. Some modifications were necessary to make this thermostat work. Happily, the original knob and attaching screw were perfect fits, so the new part mounted easily. However, it doesn't come with the rubber sleeve that goes over the capillary tube, so you'll have to salvage this from your old thermostat. The capillary tube on the new one was a bit longer than the old one, so I used some heat shrink tubing and tape to make up the difference in length of the sleeve. The spade connectors on my refrigerator were too small for the larger terminals on the new thermostat, so I had to cut them off and crimp on new ones. For the record, the new thermostat's connectors are a more common size, so there is a good chance that you won't have to make this change.None of these changes were very difficult, but be sure to allow some extra time when installing in case you have to adapt this thermostat to your refrigerator.Overall, I couldn't be happier. I really didn't want to have to get rid of my refrigerator and buy a new one. For less than $10 I was able to resurrect it, saving landfill space and money.

great price, works well. Knob didn't fit my Kenmore well.
Works well, easy install. Stock Kenmore knob doesn't fit well on thermostat (can't push it all the way in), maybe they should ship a knob? Knob indicator also seems off by about 270 degrees. The important things are it works, solved my problem and is a great price. Would buy again!

Great value and works perfectly
Pros: I am very happy with the product. You cannot beat the price. The equivalent OEM part is at least $50+. The t-stat is nice compact. The installation should be easy with just two screws if it is a direct replacement. I replaced a different model so it took me a bit of modification. The stat turns on and of approximately every 12 minutes so short cycling is not an issue. It maintains the temperature within 2-3 degrees.Cons: For this price I don't think it is fair to say anything negative. Nonetheless, with the intent to help just a few suggestions. There is no paperwork, diagram, installation manual whatsoever. It would be great if it would come with the two screws for installation and perhaps a cheap knob. The sensing probe is could be longer to make it universal. The excess length can be looped up.It is a great product. I would buy it again.

It's working in my Magic Chef MCBR170-noisily
UPDATE 12/2/2024: This thermostat was initially quiet, then it got quite noisy, sometimes giving loud clacks and other times it sounded almost as loud as the doorbell (drove the dog nuts). After several days it quieted to a point were I was almost used to it. It cycled on for 2.5 minutes and then cycled off for 6.5 minutes. That's 2 clacks every 9 minutes. So I'm taking off 2 stars for that. It did keep the 1.7 cu ft Magic Chef at 35° degrees, spot on. The noise eventually got the better of me and I took the old OEM thermostat and shot it full of CRC contact cleaner then let it dry out for a day. The fridge still stays at 35° but now, unless it's very quiet in the room, I don't hear it cycle on/off at all.So I'll keep the one I bought as a spare and just continue to use the OEM because it's so quiet. It also has a longer run time, 6.5 minutes and then it cycles off for 15.25 minutes. There are some adjusters on the thermostat which may modify that swing time.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------The thermostat in my Magic Chef 1.7 cu ft MCBR170W was working but it was making a loud click when cycling. I took it out once and shook it a few times, thinking it was carbon. That worked for a few months and then it started doing it again. I figured I'd better replace it.The original thermostat (picture) is a CS6448N / WPF16P-100-051, but this thermostat seems to be working just fine so far (1 day). The only things of concern are the 3 connector tabs (for the white, black green wires) are larger than the original so I had to trim them down with my Dremel so I could get the connectors on. The other thing is the sensor that connects to the bottom of the freezer. The original was maybe a foot long and this one is about twice that. I don't think you can cut that down because it's soldered on the end so I just coiled it up and attached to the bottom of the freezer, like the original. It's quiet, it's cooling, I'm happy. I hope I don't have to buy it again. :-)
