Slows my gelding down for sure.
Fits well in the recommended feed tub. Slows my gelding down, which was the goal after we had a choke scare. I think he'd throw it out of a flatter feed dish but works well in the deeper tub.

Slows down my gluttonous old man
I have a unique situation: my old man is blind but still the herd leader and the middle of the herd guy is also old, but the one who needs the weight the most. The young one is a punk. The young one finishes his token handful of grain and sort of hovers around the middle one, eating anything he dropped. He doesn't dare steal his grain. The older blind one, now that's a different story. He doesn't need much grain, but he finishes too quickly, wanders over, kicks the middle one out of his bowl, and goes to town. I tried every manner of separating them but without three stalls, I was messing with the herd dynamic and it was stressful for everyone, including me. I hesitate to tie the blind one up. So now what? I needed a way to feed the blind one less grain but make him take longer to eat it.The Drop'N'Slow was a Hail Mary, but it works like a charm. I drop it into the blind guy's bowl and it takes him longer to eat. This means the middle guy gets his amount of weight-building grain/beet pulp without being chased away. The oldest pushes the Drop'N'Slow all over his bowl as he eats because it's a standard 15" rubber pan, but he seldom gets it out. I did try to flip it over so the cups made mounds instead of indentations. This slowed him some, but not enough. It may be a great solution for someone who needs a moderate slow-down, though. They eat a mash, and so far no problems with getting the soft stuff out of the cups. He licks it/lips it out with no frustration. I am very happy with this solution, and am thinking of getting a second one for the young punk so he feels like he's getting more grain.Exactly what I was looking for, works great for my situation.EDIT: Well, the plastic is no match for a horse accidentally stepping on it. Shattered into a million pieces. I have had to order a replacement and now I'm baffled about the thought process of making a HORSE device out of plastic. It's the only solution I've found, so I'm stuck. Great idea, works for the problem, but plastic???

Great hack
This works greats to slow down horses who inhale their food and fits perfectly in a standard size black tub.

Rubber would be better than plastic
This is great in theory but I wish it were made out of rubber instead of plastic. I barely had it a week when my horse knocked it out of the feed tub, stepped on it, and broke it.

worked great to slow our greedy eater & prevent choking !
Worked great to slow our greedy eater and preventing choking. But, less than two weeks after we started using it our horse extracted it from his bucket & destroy it. Frighteningly, the broken pieces formed sharp pieces. I wrote the seller & received a same day response! Although we did not write to request a refund, she immediately credited our account. Here is her explanation: "My manufacturer used the wrong material (polypropylene) which is not meant for this product as it shatters (especially in cold temps)" "I have the remainder of my units being removed/destroyed by Amazon due to this defect." Kudos to this seller for accountability. The design of this product is perfect for slowing our greedy feeder & I look forward to receiving one of these after the manufacturing defect is remedied by using the seller specified materials. UPDATE: Seller promptly sent replacements so we put it to the test! Ran over it 5x with our 1 ton pickup, then attempted to destroy it by smashing it repeatedly with an 8 lb sledge hammer. We are confident that this product will withstand any treatment our 6 yo OTTB can dish out.

Find a bucket first
This is a great concept but it doesn’t fit in any of my buckets and I can’t find a bucket or even feed pan that works. Don’t waste the money until you know you have something for it to go into. Basically pointless in what I have it in now but I can’t return. Hopefully I find an effective bucket soon cause it has potential to work great

Slows down a bolter
Slows down a bolter for sure. Little pricey for what it is but it does the trick. Fits really well in the round tire feeders. She used to eat her mash in about 7 minutes, first day using it took her more than double. My senior mare actually got to finish her mash first.
