We got this for our backyard. We have two kids so a sturdy & stable base was necessary. This is a very heavy weight base and easy to set up. We did get U stakes too - to make sure the monsters couldn't knock it over. The hammock itself is very nice - a smooth poly blend that is comfortable on bare skin and breaths well. It is thick weight so should last for a long time. I love the colors - very bright & vibrant and hopefully will not fade to much in the sun. The curved bamboo strut at the head & foot are great for keeping the hammock open but with just enough curve so you feel snug in it - not like you'll roll off the edge. Hammocks without a strut tend to wrap all around you like a cocoon - not my fav at all. This one stays open even with two adults in it & is plenty big for me & the hubby and both kids (10 & 12yo girls). It comes with a sturdy carry bag and it is portable - if a little heavy. We took it camping with us and the kids loved it. When it is packed up in the bag it does not take up much space - about the same as a larger bag chair.

The media could not be loaded.  While this hammock is definitely portable, which includes carrying bags for the metal parts and fabric, it is a large hammock. Being 12 feet long, can hold up to 2 people or 475 lbs, overall it takes a good amount of space due to its total length and width.The hammock is extremely easy to setup. It takes me less than 2 minutes to set it up completely and without being in a hurry. Out of the box the hammock tends to lean towards one side more than the other, but I am guessing it is just a matter of adjusting the ropes that hold the fabric.In general, this is a great hammock for a backyard, a park, the beach.

My in-laws have a beautiful vacation home along a river. It's rather idyllic, with lots of screened-in porches and a large dock. In other words, if there was ever an environment for hammocks, this is it. They love to spend time along the docks, and I wanted them to have a hammock they could both use. This looked like the perfect gift for them.This comes together very quickly. Really, anyone could put this together. It's said that this is portable - and I guess in theory it is, but it's rather big for something portable. The fabric (canvas) of the hammock is well made, and the stitching is tight and secure.You will want to take your time adjusting the chain to get things balanced and at the level you are comfortable with. But otherwise, this is a really great hammock. My in-laws love it, and I think I won Christmas.

We already had a hammock previously, but when we moved, I decided to order this hammock in the aqua blue stripes because it was more fun than the rust colored one we previously owned. It was very easy to assemble. The colors are bright and fun; perfect for sunny Florida days. As hammocks go, they're a little tough to get into, but once you're in and the hammock is taut, it's very comfortable and you sink into it. There's not a lot of padding, but you don't really need it, as it's comfortable on its own. The hammock is very wide, too, so you could potentially have two people in it, but mostly like we'll just use it one at a time to relax and nap or read a book.

Given it is designed for two adults, this is one of the larger hammocks we have tried. But the versatility is great - very suitable for patio/deck/camping (and now in winter in the basement!). The carrying bag is helpful, but even on a RAV4, wasnt easy to fit in with all our other gear. Seems sturdy and doesnt wobble. The ropes can be adjusted for the right tilt/spread. Fabric is comfortable. A bit too vibrant for this household, but cant miss it! The pillow is not that great - thankfully it is removable - we have already recycled the pillow - will use our own when needed. Overall, a good value.

My whole family is in love with this hammock. It is incredibly easy to set up the stand, only one person is needed for that. For getting the actual hammock on, I would say that two people is best to get it set on the stand. The bar across the head and foot keeps the hammock open and stretched out. It’s super comfortable and very large. My only real issue is the vertical stitching on the top of the hammock. It’s not very secure and has already started snagging, breaking and coming out in multiple places. Other than that, it’s a great addition to any backyard.
