I've been a physical therapist for years and this is the most cost effective and durable gait belt. Put it around the patient's waist with the teeth up, pull it snug and double it back over the teeth to prevent slipping. Protects patients from injury by providing a safe "handle" to hold on to to help them maintain balance or stand up from either a chair or from the floor after a fall. Prevents people from trying to lift the patient by their arms and risking tearing the shoulders.

This gaitbelt has been amazing. It's a very good quality and even comes with a band so the belt strap doesn't hang down when you use it on smaller individuals. It matches all my Scrubs and blends in as a part of my uniform. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to help my 98 year old mother transfer from bed to wheelchair and to practice walking with her rolling walker following a fall where she broke her neck. Our physical therapist used this belt to help get her up from chairs as well. I have used it when she falls and lands on the floor. I cannot pick her up as she doesn't know how to help with her feet. I would recommend this to anyone who is helping take care of an elderly person or a person with limited mobility. It is certainly affordable and makes the caretaker's job easier.
