Well packed. Works perfectly.
Saw DDR in an arcade a couple of weeks ago, and decided to break out the old PS2 to play it at home. I have almost all of the DDR games. Unfortunately my mats were all trash. Probably because of improper storage. I looked at all of the mats (for ps2) on Amazon and they all have a portion of “doesn’t work” reviews. I took a leap of faith on this mat. It arrived today (albeit a week after the original estimated date of arrival...). It was packed loosely in an oversized box, and was in perfect condition. Plugged it in, and it works flawlessly. Even got a new record (in game), right out of the gate! I’ll update the review if it fizzles out. I also bought an(“OSTENT PS2 to Xbox 360 Controller/Wheel/Dance Pad Adapter Converter Compatible for Microsoft Xbox 360”) so that I can use the PS2 mat on the DDR games that I have for the Xbox 360, since the regular USB mats all say they are not compatible with Xbox 360 (even though it has USB ports for controller connections...). Sounds suspect, but maybe the USB mats are wired differently internally than the standard 360 controller...???. Anyway, they haven’t arrived yet, but if they work when they do arrive, I’ll leave a review on that product also. Not being one to put all of my eggs in one basket, I also purchased the DDR Game Tough brand (“DDR Non-Slip Dance Pad for PS/PS2, Wii, Xbox and PC”), which has also yet to arrive. If it works, I’ll also leave a review on that product. If you’re in my same situation, I hope this helps you get up and running.

Do not buy from this seller, dance pads do not work
They say that they “fixed the lag” (whatever that means) but it’s super laggy and you can’t play with it.If you have any issues, go to Amazon directly. This seller posts a phone number that’s never answered (with no voicemail) and an email address which also goes unanswered.Honestly, the fact that the title says “no delay” in the title and that the mat lags shows that they’re knowingly selling bad product.Be careful with this seller, seems like a scam.

Functional but overpriced
Product arrived quickly and is functional. Foam pads as some have noted are a bit squishy and not high density. Being able to get PS2 pads in this day and age is a luxury. Nevertheless, the price is exorbitant. The vendor invoice itself admits the product to be worth $40 USD. The product is marked up at $90 CDN with $70 shipping charge brining a $55 product up to $160. Even this I was willing to swallow given the poor availability of this product in Canada. But weeks later I was saddled with another $40 invoice from FedEx. Wth did I pay $70 in shipping charges for, then? If you’re looking for a foam filled PS2 DDR mat, then this will do the trick, an you’re likely not to have a ton of option. But with regard to cost, I would say buyer beware.

squishy!
UPDATE: ive been using this for months, daily. works great but difficult to store unless you want to unzip every time. would buy againContext: PS2 DDR player since early 200s, exclusive to thin plastic padsPros:FunctionalArrows are thicker than the rest of the pad to make mid game adjustments easierDoesent slide on hardwood floor! (first pad ive used to never slide)Cons:rubber core is squishy and negatively effects response time if you're used to a solid pad (i am 125lbs and play in socks)the rubber has various small dips and curves which look minor but can be felt. (only effects my back arrow foot placement)storage (its practically a solid object unless you want to unzip and take apart the foam each time)While ive only been using this for about 3 of 4 hours, the main issue for me is longevity because ive burnt through 6 thin plastic ddr pads. I would recommend sticking to the thin pads because having a squishy surface makes the game harder at higher difficulties (may not be that big of a deal, i may just have to adjust) or going to a high end metal pad but i dont know if those are even sold new anymore. I give this 4 stars because it is functional and my nitpicks are mostly details you notice at playing on the highest difficulty.

Good Foam Pad
Working great so far with my PS2. My old 2.0 pad was completely shredded, and this 4.0 version seems to be holding up a lot better so far. They made changes to the foam insert, 3 pieces vs 6 in the old version, and this seems to be helping with resilience and sturdiness in general. A hard pad will always give the best experience, but this foam pad holds its own!
