Alfred's Basic Piano Course: Theory Book, Level 1A

The Alfred series are great books for teaching kids piano. My mom used them as a piano teacher and I’m using them to teach my own kids. Highly recommend!

This is a great book for beginners. My son finds it easy to use and is making great progress.

Has some nice activities to step through the introduction of theory

This book is thoughtfully written. I appreciate that the child can play duets with a parent or teacher and quickly feel like they are making beautiful music.

I don't play the piano but I'm able to help my daughter with her lessons and that's truly a plus for me.

Alfred has always been my favorite series to teach beginning piano students.

It had British system note names, like crochet, minim, etc.! NOT what wanted! And no indication on the front of the book that it was the British System! I teach in the US and have never had this problem before. So, BUYER BEWARE!! We had already written in the piano and theory books when we discovered the problem, so I couldn't return them.

i’ve bought this book over 4 times for my piano kids. it’s great and exactly how i expected it to be! simple and a good purchase :)
