Midwest Tungsten ServiceFidget Spinner Weights (Set of 3)

Experimental tungsten tinkering... SUCCESS!
I guess I am more of a tinkerer than fidgeter. A fidgety tinkerer. I wanted to see what actual difference these tungsten weights would make in spin-time on a basic three arm/wing spinner. See the photos that supplement this review. The stats on the weights I received are as follows. Well balanced at 45 grams each. Diameters and depth match. Very nice finish and refined edges. So I can say they are aesthetically pleasing. They fit the generic cheapo plastic frames and one of the alloy generics just fine. Just to mention- I did have one cheapo 3 arm that they just would not fit into- so your "mileage may vary". And I haven't tried them on a two arm spinner (yet). All the cheapo spinners had cheapie 608 bearings in them and three 608's used as the arm "weights". I chose one plastic spinner and gave it a spin-time test. Let me preface this by saying that the spins are just a normal effort single finger flick. Not really all-my-strength. No high pressure air/gas spray or anything fancy. Somewhat subjective. Three trials. All done on a vibration dampening material covered, bubble-leveled surface. I've noticed that some types of hard surfaces tend to echo back and magnify vibration from a spinning bearing. So, the average with the original bearing was about 1 min 10 secs. Anemic. So I decided to use this one as a skeleton frame. Next I replaced the center 608 bearing with a nice quality ceramic R188 bearing in a steel 608 to R188 adapter assembly. This brought the average spin-time up to 2 mins 50 secs. The final mod was to press in the tungsten weights. The average spin-time jumped to 8 mins 45 secs! Pretty significant. It actually beat the average spin-time of a higher end, alloy frame/ brass weighted spinner with an R188 bearing I recently received. I can definitely say that these tungsten weights are a great accessory if you are really into fidget spinners. Or if you just want to tinker and build a 'genetically modified Franken-spinner'. Either way Tungsten weights are demonstrably superior for a massive increase in spin-time !

Super fun and surprisingly heavy
Humans aren't accustomed to Tungsten, so it's fascinating to play with. The weights are satisfyingly heavy in your hand, a bit unnatural compared to the familiar weight of ordinary objects. They keep the fidget spinner running longer, but frankly, they're just fun on their own to fidget with the weights themselves.

Not the same weight for the three
I was sent a fidget spinner by a friend of mine who's really into them, so naturally I wanted to best his times just as a matter of course. This is my first spinner, wasn't sure how to make it better but some research directed me to these Tungsten weights. Problem is, they don't all three weigh the same. I had one at the listed 45 grams, one at 44.5 grams, and one at 43 grams. So my spinner vibrates at high speed and shows imbalance if testing it vertically, it shows one of the 3 legs light and that one always comes to a stop on top. The diameter and thickness was spot on, weight overall of the tungsten is really amazing, shame about the balance, I've turned a relatively inexpensive spinner into a fairly expensive aggravation.

These are really awesome, if a but spendy I've been making spinners ...
These are really awesome, if a but spendy I've been making spinners for a while for friends and family with my CNC mill. I prefer making them out of wood as it makes each one unique, but wood doesn't have much weight to it. These tungsten weights early quadruple the spin times of my designs! These are machined very precisely and perfectly replace any 608 bearing. The face of each has a nice spiral milled texture, which I prefer to something completely smooth or glossy. I did the scratch test with some scrap steel, couldn't put a mark in these. Now if only they were half the price, I'd buy way more. Nothing much can be done on that front however, I can't imagine it's very cheap to mill tungsten.

These are magnetic so they are not pure tungsten. These have some unadvertised ferrite.
These were advertised as pure tungsten. That is why I bought these. I feel cheated.
