Broke on first ride.
This review is vased on using the sled on a grassy hill. 1) It breaks I am right at 200 lbs, and it cracked on the first run. Three more runs and it was cracked 3/4 of its length, with sharp plastic pieces sticking out... dangerous! And yes, I bought this for my kid. But she wouldn't ride it until I did. So it needs to be engineered more sturdy. 2) foot rests are insufficient. I kept flying over the front when it hit a bump. And those handles are a joke. 3) the ice block makes a hard edge that catches on things... causing rider to go flying out front.

Fun, sturdy sled even with no snow
So fun! My 4 year old loves it. We live in Texas and it was so fun to actually sled with no snow. Sled seems solid and well made. Easy to put the ice on the bottom of it and we got in about 45 minutes of sledding. Crossing my fingers we can try it in snow this winter! ** UPDATE 1 year later** This thing is still really working well and we did get to try it on snow- for about 6 hours before it melted. Really slides well and my 200+ pound husband has ridden on it. It says it is limited to around 150lbs but it handled him fine. It is a great idea for us Southern States folks!

Fun & Pricey
Purchased this to use on grassy hills in the summer. It works exactly as expected/described. The ice packs are fairly easy to prepare & assemble, and the ride is smooth & fun. On an average warm day my kids got 10 rides down a large hill before it got too melty & grassy. You have to figure that includes getting the sled back up the hill though - it's kind of a heavy product, especially for kids, so the ice had time to melt on the way up too. The plastic is a little cheap on the outside, we had a chipped off piece from the shipping alone, but nothing that impacted the use of the sled. I find the price a bit high for what you get (would rate higher if less expensive) but all in all, it's an awesome idea & a fun product.

Wow, the Slicer actually works!
The Slicer actually works! We bought two, so the ice trays take up a lot of room in the freezer (and the lids don't stay on so well, so expect some water spillage), but they fit into a side-by-side freezer (a wider freezer would be optimal). To remove the Icer from the tray, use warm tap water. We used the slicer on brown, dormant winter grass, and it worked quite well. It went faster and faster as the ice really started to melt. I imagine it will go even faster on green grass. We live in Dallas/Fort Worth, so we'll take whatever sled action we can get! Cons: The back sled door likes to come open or come off during riding, so keep an eye on it. The Slicer is quite heavy, but it comes with a tow rope. Free shipping at [...]!

Broken
Terrible. Arrived late, son tried it once and it shattered. Now Amazon shows I can’t return it. Money wasted. It was the only thing he asked me for Christmas. 💔

Fabulous fun!
This is a fabulous all-weather sled! We live in Houston and used this sled for the first time today when it was sunny and the temperature was in the upper 60s-the ice trays were still going after an hour of straight sledding! it did get faster and run more smoothly after several runs but I was amazed how well it worked and how much fun it was!!!!

fun but tough to get ice tray on it
my daughter plays with this a lot during the summer. Very fun and you definitely get some momentum going down grassy hills. My complaint is that the tray that holds the ice is VERY tough to put on. We actually broke one handle grip trying to push the tray in place. I ended up putting less water in the tray than recommended and it was still difficult. I had to take a stake and apply pressure to the latch alone so it would snap in place without shattering the ice. Otherwise, you are putting all pressure on the ice itself, which caused the ice to crack and break off once. There goes a day of no sledding because it takes a while for that much water to freeze solid. Otherwise, a very fun product and they play outside with it for over an hour.

Great sled
So far, we have only used the sled in winter, but it is light weight, fast and easy for my 4 and 6 year old grandchildren to use. We are looking forward to using them on the grass this summer to ice block.
