Printed so smooth, I had to double check my settings.
Whenever I try a new brand of filament, especially silk, I'm always a bit nervous when printing a large project. Silk can be temperamental with adhesion, obvious layer lines, or supports that just won't let go. I purchased 2 rolls of the Giantarm Silk Metallic Silver for a very large print (close to 20" tall) that had to be printed in parts because of its size. In fact, the entire print took almost 2 full rolls. As I was printing the first section, I was so impressed by how smooth the layers were, I thought I must have accidently changed the settings from .20mm layer height to .16mm or below. After double checking, it really was at .20mm. I used 2 Bambu P1P printers at the same time to print the parts and save time. After printing 6 plates, and a combined 70 hours of total print time, there was never a single issue with adhesion, clogs or failures. The next test was support removal. I used the default tree support setting, and it used the same filament for supports. They all popped off very easily and clean with minimal clean-up and without damaging the model. When it came time to glue the parts together, everything fit together flat, no warping, and with a snug seam you only notice up close or looking for it, which could never be invisible regardless. As far as the finish, just beautiful! It has a great silvery sheen with just a touch of grayness to it. I slowed the default Outer Wall Print Speed from 200mm/s to 100mm/s to achieve great results, however if this print was smaller and took less time, I would normally set this to 40 or 50 for silk, in order to get the most shine. I wasn't sure if 100 would be slow enough, but I was thrilled with the results! I have found my new favorite metallic silk filament and not just because of the quality, as there are many quality silk filaments on the market, but those also can come at a premium price. Giantarm's value compared to it's quality makes this my top choice now! I really look forward to trying more colors from them now!

Flawless Printing Experience with Metallic Silver PLA Filament
I recently had the opportunity to use this metallic silver PLA filament, and it has absolutely exceeded my expectations, prompting me to give it a full five-star rating. As an avid 3D printing enthusiast, I've experimented with numerous types of filaments, but this one truly stands out for its exceptional quality and performance. First and foremost, the melting behavior of this filament is remarkable. It melts consistently, which is crucial for bonding each layer effectively. This feature alone makes it superior, as it ensures the durability and integrity of the prints. For those who have experienced issues with filament bonding in the past, this product could very well be your solution. One of the most impressive aspects of this filament is how smoothly it flows. This characteristic greatly contributes to an incredibly smooth and uniform first layer, which is often a make-or-break factor in the world of 3D printing. A well-laid first layer sets the foundation for the rest of the build, and this filament delivers flawlessly in that regard. In addition to its functional excellence, the aesthetic aspect of the filament should not be overlooked. The metallic silver shine it imparts to the prints is not only realistic but also visually stunning. It adds a professional touch to the objects, making this filament a fantastic choice for projects where appearance is paramount. Check out the cool laptop stand I was able to make with it. Furthermore, the filament’s adherence to the bed plate is commendable. Proper adhesion is vital to prevent warping and to maintain the precision of the print throughout the process. This filament maintains strong bed adhesion, minimizing common issues associated with lesser-quality filaments. Overall, this metallic silver PLA filament is one of the better PLA filaments I've worked with. It strikes the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, making it an excellent choice for both amateur and professional 3D printing projects. Whether you are creating simple household items or intricate models, this filament will likely elevate the quality of your work, ensuring crisp, clean, and reliable prints every time. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their 3D printing experience.

Prints smoothly and very shiny!
We are making St. Patty’s Day decorations and I needed something shiny for gold coins. This is perfect! No jamming or tension issues. Coin after coin has come out perfect!

The color and shine are great
Very nice filament. Only complaint is it is slightly brittle, but the color is fantastic

Yes, it's silver but keep your expectations in check
This looks more like brushed stainless steel than chrome-like images on the page, but it *is* a nice silver color. Not a deep silver, not a lustrous silver, but a decent silver color overall. I like it and can already think of quite a few prints I'll be doing in this silver filament. If you have bits that would look good in chrome/silver this is definitely worth a try. A good coat of clear gloss does bring out a bit more of the silvery 'feel' but keep your expectations reasonable; it's probably not going to look quite as stunning as the photos make it appear. It also printed well on a Kobra S1 with default nozzle and bed settings; YMMV. Overall I'd recommend it for printed items that would look good in silver.

I always think the signs of a good quality filament is the way it is packaged as it shows that they manufacturers care about how it is stored in the weeks/months between the factory floor and it arriving at the end user. The quality of printing with a filament suffers when it has been exposed to moisture and dust so to receive the silk PLA in a vacuum sealed bag with a silica gel packet inside shows that they care about quality. The packaging also comes with a re-sealable bag which is a nice touch. I've made a couple of test prints and the ease of printing is very good. It behaves no different to normal PLA using the same print settings (I used 210 degrees hotend with a 60 degrees heated bed). Despite some stringing (I probably could get away with 200 degrees hotend) I didn't have any issues with the prints (working first time). Colour is replicated really well (a nice shiny copper look) from the colour on the spool and the finish on the print is really smooth (I printed at 0.2mm layers and 100mm/s speed which explains the visibility of the layers). For price/kg this is a really good choice for all standard of users. Highly recommended.

Bobine de filament 3d de 1kg qui fonctionne parfaitement sur mon imprimante 3d elegoo neptune 4 pro. Température du bed à 60°, température extrudeur à 195°. Bonne accroche sur le plateau, pas de cheveux d'ange. Prix correct.

This filament has been wonderful and enjoyable to use and the results are nearly flawless. It has given me the cleanest prints I've achieved so far and I've been using it extensively. No Z banding, layer lines are smooth and barely distinguishable, adhesion is great and it has absolutely no tangle, clogging or bubbling as advertised. With the correct settings (200C print temp and 50C bed temp on a flexible magnetic bed using an ender 3 v2 with upgraded bowden tube and BLTouch with Jyers UI), I've never had prints come out this good consistently. I've been able to start prints and come back once they finish without any trouble at all, which is great compared to other filament I've had to keep an eye on. It is a little prone to stringing, though, but that's no big issue as the strings aren't particularly long or thick.
