Powerful midsize blender. Really breaks up big chunks of ice and large frozen strawberries with ease. Motor sound is loud but what can you expect from a powerful blender. The cups are convenient and comes in two sizes. Clean up is easy. I found that I have to really twist the blender lid real tight to the cup because the vibration from the motor will cause the blender lid to want to untwist its self from the cup...so if you get it, really secure the blender lid to the cup to prevent leaks. I shopped and shopped and read a lot of reviews and finally settled on purchasing this one. For the price its a deal considering that it can blend anything!

Bought this to replace the terrible and cheaply made Bella Rocket Blender that broke within months... and its amazing!! You can definitely FEEL the quality. Love the minimal packaging/branding and matte black look, super nice... and very powerful! I use it for protein shakes and it makes them smooth as can be and I know I'm not using it to its full potential haha. It can for sure be used to blend ice and harder foods. Make sure you pay attention to the max line indication on the cups! I went over the line one time and the liquid spilled out and everywhere. Totally my fault though and not a fault of the blender. Definitely recommend!

This blender works great. It has plenty of power and blends creamy smoothies fast and doesn't turn it to foam in the process. That being said, if you tighten the lid too tight you'll get you morning workout trying to get the lid off. I don't see how some people could even get it off. If you don't tighten it enough it spews stuff out and makes a big mess. The final kicker that makes this blender a waste of money is the bushing in the cap and rotor started screeching. I have been noticing a little rusty moisture coming from the underside if the cap. This time it screamed so loud that it sounder like it was going to fly apart and the plastic drive hub was covered in rust powder. I have no idea how much rust got into my smoothie. Bummer, because I really like the things that I liked.

Update: This was used twice a day to make a smoothie, berries and milk, that's all. It blew up at one year and one week,, , something broke in the motor and it started to smoke profusely. In short, it's clear it's not durable. Save your money and buy a brand well known for excellent workmanship.This is a powerful blender and definitely gets the blending job done; however, it's not perfect. The blade mechanism has to be screwed on quite tightly to the container in order to keep it from leaking, and it seems to get tighter during the blending process. Because of that, it usually it takes the strength of a gorilla to get it unscrewed again.It is right at the threshold of too loud; you definitely won't want to leave it on much more than 30 seconds (one minute is the max per the manual - which is clearly written) because it will either deafen you or make you crazy (like most blenders).Additionally the design could benefit from an on-off switch. It turns on now by either pushing the container straight down (fairly forcefully) against a spring mechanism (for the purpose of pulse blending by letting it up, which turns it off, and then pushing down again, or by pushing down and then turning the container clockwise to lock it under a lip that holds it down, keeping it turned on (all the while, it's sounding like a freight train and vibrating in your hands). You can then let go of it if you have the courage to see whether or not it's going to start "walking" around. It has little suction cups on the bottom of the base, but they don't seem to work very well on smooth, polished granite counter tops, which makes me think they simply don't work very well at all, certainly not with any confidence.After locking it down to keep it on, you get it to turn off by either turning the container counterclockwise to release it from the lip, which takes more than a little effort while the machine is roaring and vibrating, or pulling the plug out of the outlet. It would be much easier and much less strain if one could just get it all ready to go, e.g., by getting it fastened down under the lip, and then operating an "on" switch. The same for turning it off. However, you may still want to keep one hand on top of the container while it's running.The package could also benefit by supplying a comfort lip ring (or two) to screw onto the top of the container after the blending is finished so you can drink comfortably out of the container as if it were a glass. At least two of its competitors do that. I could not find that VonShef sells them as even an additional accessory and I don't know if any of the competitors rings will fit.Additionally, I do not know whether any of VonShef's competitors in this blending-power class operate any better in connection with the comments above; they all look pretty much the same and, further, I don't know how durable any of them are, including the VonShef. Notwithstanding, since it's a blender and at that task it just chops the living blazes out of what you put into the container, I'm giving it 4 stars for accomplishing that.

I have only used this once, for a smoothie. Thought I had followed directions well, but there was a leak, and it was a sticky mess to clean, about three tbs,. The blades are powerful, and crushed the almonds well. Except for the base (leak site), it is very easy to clean - you must do this promptly. I am disappointed that there is no button to turn blender on - it is a nuisance to get a watch and make sure it is not on for a more than a minute. Also, I wish it could be cleaned in the dishwasher. Haven't used it again, YET hesitate to make another mess. Hope the blades can handle kale. Only three recipes in book, sugary fruit smoothies. In spite of leak, I thought the directions and use manual were clear.

I LOVE THIS BLENDER!!! It's the best ever!! My blender broke and was shopping around for a replacement...long and hard and was looking at other well-known bullet blenders but their longevity was less than impressive, both from reviews and my personal experience. Checked this out, especially since it was marked "Amazon Choice" and gave it a try. This is THE best blender ever and I kid you not, even with the exact same ingredients used as before, I can tell a huge difference in the energy making shakes with this blender...I really feel I'm getting more absorbable nutrition from the ingredients from the powerful blending process and extraction blades. My boyfriend's blender broke shortly after mine, he got one, too, and he absolutely loves it, too and agrees he gets much more energy from this one and it does annihilate and completely pulverizes ice, spinach, raw asparagus, goji berries, etc.,so that there is not a trace of it other than pure smooth bliss! This is a super powerful blender. It only takes less than 5-10 seconds to completely blend anything I put in it. I also noticed that Domu was very responsive to any complaints. I've been raving about it to all my friends and so has my boyfriend. Try it...you won't regret it!!

Good blender for the price. Keep in mind it's sold at 35$ in the States. It's basically an entry level blender. It performs really good with fresh fruits and vegetables and will make smoothies in seconds. It has a much harder time blending frozen fruits and ice especially in the large cup. Be ready to help it by unscrewing the cup and shaking it manually to push the big chunk near the blades and don't expect a very even texture in those cases.

This Blender was really good for the first month! No complaints.However, after just 1 month and a half, it broke and no longer works.DO NOT buy if you need a long term blender.
