Q: How can I remove the adhesive in order reposition the strip?

I never had to remove the adhesive. I would probably try using a hair dryer to warm up the glue so I could pull the strip off. Good luck!

You might try heavy-duty double stick tape.

Q: What is the minimum edge depth needed to be secure? the edge of my desk is 1.5" thick (tall), but only 0.75" before it meets the frame underneath.

Sorry, I can't help. When my power strip arrived there was no clamp. I contacted the sender and they indicated it would take several weeks to remedy the situation. Still waiting.
