Smart Plug Amysen - Alexa, Echo & Google Home – Only WiFi 2.4G (4- Pack)

I was able to install, although you need to make sure your wifi is low and not 5G for the installation. Then you can reset it to 5G. Biggest problem is that when there is a power outage, they don't reset. So you have to re install all over again. I had one Amazon smart plug and that was simple to install and always came right back after a power problem. I tried to tolerate the Amysens for several months and finally gave up. I tossed them out and purchased a couple more Amazon smart plugs. Easy to install and always come right back into service after a power outage.

Note - you MUST DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE AMSYN WEBSITE - instructions posted on Amazon are WRONG!1, Install the "CLOUD INTELLIGENCE" app- NOT "Smart Life"!!!2. Set up an account, install the first one and give it a logical name; THEN add it as new device on Alexa, which is easy.2. The second one simply requires adding it to cloud intelligence; opening Alexa and clicking the "+" button to add a new device, and it's added automatically with the name you gave it - all you have to do is assign a room.3. Then normal Alexa voice commands work (example: "Alexa, turn on the living room Bandmaster" - and if you leave the power switches on, the devices will turn on!I also slap an erasable tag on each one with the name so I can remember which is which - and so I can erase and change the name if I decide to use it differently.I think those having trouble are using Amazon device installation instruction and the "Smart Life"app . SMART LIFE DOES NOT WORK!! ONLY use CLOUD INTELLIGENCE.Once installed they work with normal Alexa voice commands using whatever name you give them. I have a bunch of guitar amps and tube gear with rear-mounted power switches - these are SO much easier than wrestling with a 50 pound piece of equipment!You just need to remember to turn things OFF using a voice command or the Alexa app!I'm also disabled, and at times it's difficult to get up and walk to a piece of equipment. They really help!Once I got past the installation instruction issues (and plugging a couple in where access is tough) they're absolutely great!

The plugs do what they are supposed to do with Alexa and its own app. They do disconnect frequently, Even the one that is next to the router.

I was looking for old school timers when I saw these on sale. I mostly wanted something to automatically turn pet heating pads and a fish tank light on/off.What I like:The app makes it easy to turn the outlets on or off whenever I want from anywhere. I can also set up a schedule to automatically turn the outlet on and off and these can be set to repeat daily, on weekends, on weekdays or on a custom schedule.The price point was low so even with a few issues, I'm happy overall with my purchase and the cats are thrilled with their heating pads since I don't forget to turn them on.What I don't like:The app took a few tries to get the plugs to connect and set up. Once the first connected, the others were easy. If I remember correctly, I had to completely close the app, reopen and try again to get it to work.Each plug can only have 5 scheduled on or off settings which seems odd. Shouldn't this at least be an even number? On and then off is 2 so... Had I realized up front, I could only set up 5 times in the schedule, I would have kept looking at other options.After only a month of use, I've already had to unplug one unit and plug it back in so it would reset. It quit responding to the app and even to pressing the button on the side of the unit.The shape makes it difficult to plug another item in next to it as it hangs over a bit too far. I got around this by using power strips.

These are great. Only issue is Google somehow keeps making me update it and until you do they don't work.

Packaging was great, didn't look like it had been returned or previously opened. The actual plugs were great, no damage nor had they been used previously. NOW... to the setup...The instructions aren't the greatest and some of the screenshots that are on the instruction manual don't really match up to the app, so let me save you some time... download the cloud intelligence app or scan the QR code in the manual. Setup a new account and once you get signed in make sure you arw ok the device screen. Once there click on the "+" in the upper right corner, you'll get the auto discover screen. This is where I had trouble originally. To make things easier, click and hold the power button on the side of the plug for 5 seconds, it will then begin to flash. After a few seconds the plug will pair with app and you can now rename it and add to the room of your choice. Once paired and added to the room, you should now be able to control the plug and whatever you have plugged into it. Repeat for any additional plugs and enjoy!

Apartments usually don't have a light switch in the livingroom for some reason so plug this in connect it to alexa with a lamp and when you walk in to your home tell Alexa to turn on the lamp and boom problem solved super easy
