The first thing I will note is that this case is quite pricey, but I think it very well may be the best hard shell case for the Klein Digital Angle Gauge. Some of the things that were noticeable to me when I looked at other hard shell cases for this device is that they did not seem to have available the soft barrier between the internal pocket and the device. I find this to be a nice touch and somewhat necessary, since the buttons on the device can otherwise be more easily activated unintentionally when in the carrying case. Then there's the orange accent on the zipper that is a very nice touch. Although, purely a matter appearance the orange trim on the case makes it more suited and looks as if it could have been an original Klein hard shell case. And of course the most important aspect of this product is its capability of protecting the device. The hard shell case feels very much premium quality. It feels like it can withstand many drops, while protecting the device effectively. The Klein Digital Angle Gauge fits perfectly and snuggly as it ought to in order to securely carry the device. As you can see from the photos, the Klein Digital Angle Gauge does indeed come with a carrying case. The included carrying case is very much basic. It simply a thin fabric covering with velcro to secure its flap closed. There's very little to no protection of the device. If you carry other tools that can bang into this device I'd consider the included case highly ineffective. The price of this hard shell case is just about half the cost of the Klein Digital Angle Gauge itself. Now what exactly do you get for your spending this money? I would say the protection of the device is first and foremost benefit. Purchasing this case is an investment in protecting your device for years to come. Being on a construction site can be extremely rugged. Dropping this hard shell case on the concrete floor would likely do no damage to the device itself. Not to mention some of the highly valuable features this case offers over the Klein case covering. As mentioned previously, the soft barrier between the device and internal pocket makes for protecting the front of the device and preventing inadvertent operation, which wastes the battery. The internal pocket is rather standard for carrying spare batteries and the operating manual, but I will say that it is sufficiently sized. I can imagine some cases would have you squeeze batteries into a smaller internal pocket because the manufacturer of the product wants to cut on costs. Also, the pull tab is a very nice touch. It makes taking the device out of the case simple and easily controlled. The device is rather small and I can imagine it being easily dropped while being taken out of its case. And the final point to mention is the included carabiner clip. It is a very nice addition that serves the purpose of allow one to carry this clipped to your pants. Or it can be clipped to the outside of your backpack or tool bag. Overall, I highly recommend this case to anyone looking to protect their Klein Digital Angle Gauge and benefit from the multiple benefits of this hard shell case over the included Klein case covering.
