20 lb versus 24 lb? Which one is thicker, higher quality? I need it to print gift certificates? I notice the 20 lb is slightly more expensive.

Comparing 20 lb and 24 lb paper, of course 24 lb paper is slightly thicker. This is not really a measurement of quality, however. This paper is a bright (92 brightness), high quality paper with clean perforations.

Why does the description say "perforated from the bottom"?

There are 2 horizontal perforations. Although the description says from the bottom, the 2 perforations make the single page evenly sectioned into 3 parts.

available in colored paper?

Unfortunately no, this is not available in any other colors.

What should be ordered to make book marks?

This is not a heavy card stock paper. It is more the weight of regular copy paper. We use it in our bookkeeping department so I really can't help you as far as how it would work for bookmarks.
