When the series became formulaic and contrived
Final Destination 2 is when the franchise went from a well thought out thriller into simply throwing one gotcha moment after another at the audience. The start is a perfect example as one near catastrophe after another almost kills someone before they narrowly escape. It’s meant to get people to ooh and aw. Later on a character loses a ring down a drain and everyone is supposed to yell “Don’t put your hand down the sink!” That’s the entire film. It’s meant to keep everyone on the edge of their seat until a cast member eventually gets it. Yes it is still entertaining but it’s completely contrived.

Up for more gore!
I see a lot of four and five star reviews for this one. If you read my review on the first movie I gave that one four stars. Now I've seen the series as it's been released on cable, never wanting to go to the theater and pay ticket prices for any of these since they'rw all kind of schlocky fun.. "popcorn movies" . Unfortunately most were kind of forgettable to me, I knew the premise and a few of the actors and quite a few of the "deaths" but I couldn't really sort them out without going to imbd - should the need ever arise. Well my son just got into them. He will only watch movies in sequence and he asked me what was my favorite.. I told him that other than the first and the fifth the rest were kind of a blur (not the best sign in film making)..That being said, the acting was probably on par with the first movie, and it was nice to see the continuation of more than just the theme by bringing back Clear Rivers. The gore ratio and variety was fine (about the same).. there were actually a couple of fairly original and tense scenes that surpassed similar films. So I guess this one gets a four as well.. watching the first isn't necessary but might help if you're really trying to make solid movie night of it.

A great follow up to the first one
This one is great about dragging out some of the scenes to build up more suspense, just as entertaining as the first one. But again, if you're streaming through AMC+ they are going to spam Shudder ads in the middle of important parts and a lot of them towards the end. Why would AMC show me ads for their own channel I'm subscribed to in the middle of a movie? No thanks...cancelling AMC+ for sure

The movie was great but my mother didn't like this movie when she bought it for me
I loved this movie and all the other Final Destination movies, it's just that my mother thought it was a crazy movie and thought I was a little bit too obsessed with it and probably thought I'd have nightmares from watching this movie, so she took it away from me and hid all my Final Destination movies somewhere in the house over 10 years ago... And now she claims she has no idea what she did with them!!! In other words she feels like she lost them!!!! I can't wait to tell Devon Sawa this story!!!! I wonder what Devon Sawa would think? As far as the movie, I'd give it 5 out of 5 stars, but for my mother hiding them around the house and losing them, 1 star!!!!

More death and mayhem among high school seniors
Second F.D. film. Like the entire series it follows the pattern of the original movie. While the original movie taught us not to fly to France in a Boeing 747, this movie reveals that freeways can be death traps. The quality is high and there is not too much quality decline over the five movies. Entertaining in its own uniquely morbid way.

Death has a twisted sense of humor
This is not a stand-alone movie. You really need to watch the first one to understand the references made throughout the movie about the survivors (and subsequently, victims) of Flight 180 & the connections they have to those who are now involved. Plus, Ali Larter (Clear) returns for this installment.-- A log-hauler truck causes the deadliest highway pileup in the state's history and Kimberly foresees it at the on-ramp. She blocks traffic from merging onto the highway, effectively saving the lives of several people. Like a Rube Goldberg machine, you watch the domino effect... waiting to see just what kills the victim, only to be pleasantly surprised by something altogether unrelated. I think you have to have a darker, more twisted sense of humor to truly appreciate the thought that is put into these elaborate death scenes and enjoy them for the entertainment it truly is. This is not my favorite movie in the franchise, but it does contain two of my top 5 "Best Deaths" from the franchise. Although a few of the deaths can be a bit brutal in nature, I view the franchise as horror-comedy. I subtracted one star for the fact that although "death's design" is clearly outlined during the movie, it falters and deviates for no reason, taking one person completely out-of-turn. My husband, kids & I all debated the victim's death for almost 20 minutes with no sound reason or conclusion as to "why" they opted to do that. Yeah, I'll nitpick over that all day, but that really was the only negative thing I can say about the movie.Tony Todd ("Candyman") returns to play the equally creepy crematorium / funeral home keeper. What a wonderfully terrifying addition to these movies (or maybe that's the leftover Candyman FEAR speaking). ;)

Best Final
This was the second movie and was much better than the first . This one starts with a motorway pile up-or does it.After the first disaster death is out t catch thee people who cheated it by getting off the plane in the first movie.Make no mistake this is gory and there is a real eye popping scene that people were put off their popcorn. However despite all the death, the special effects are fine and the story rattles along at a fair pace. If you've seen the rest you may think this is one of the better in this series

Good rental to keep at three quid
The fans are right, since Final Destination 2 continues straight on from the first film it's better than the other totally unconnected groups of people in the same situation in the two sequels that follow. Best of all the "Death event" is actually ordinary and commonplace compared to the more elaborate setups from the next two films. After 3 and 4 were shown on TV and I rented no.5, I went back and bought this one when it fell to £2.99. FD2 is great as there's more involved dialog and rule-setting for the characters but I would wait for a Blu Ray re-issue of all 5 in a box set before bothering to pick up the rest.

Prompt delivery after order, as long as its wide screen aspect.
As long as a dvd on amazon IS wide screen rather than full on tv, thats a motive.Unfortunately often on details the aspect says not known.

Nothing scratches the itch like a silly bit of teen horror
Nothing scratches the itch like a silly bit of teen horror. Grab a few beers and turn your brain off for a couple of hours. Just simple fun.
