desertcart.com: A Practical Guide To Quantitative Finance Interviews: 9781438236667: Zhou, Xinfeng: Books Review: Good quant interview book, especially for non-native speakers - What Zhou has done better is his answers have very clear logics and easy-to-follow reasoning, which from what I understand is the very thing that quant interviews are meant for. They interview you not just to test your familiarity with the topics, but to see how you work through the problems, analyze the information and find a reasonable solution. That's why this is a great book. It is extremely helpful to candidates who are not native speakers. The writer's explanation, again (sorry I am repeating myself), can teach you how to think out loud during the interviews, and similarly how to tackle new problems. Review: well-organized for quant interviews - It covers topics frequently asked during quant interviews like probability & stat, linear algebra, brain teasers, etc. Each chapter contains a brief recap of relevant materials with a set of interview questions with detailed answers. It helps with my preparation a lot.

Good Book Nice Problems And Prepares You
This book is a solid and practical resource for anyone preparing for quantitative finance interviews, especially those who want a clear idea of what kinds of questions they might actually face. What I appreciated most is how focused it is on interview style thinking rather than just dumping theory. The problems encourage you to explain your reasoning, which is exactly what interviewers tend to care about. It does a good job of training you to think out loud and structure your approach instead of just rushing to an answer. The range of topics covered is another strength. Probability, statistics, brainteasers, and finance related intuition are all represented, and the difficulty generally feels realistic rather than artificially extreme. Many of the questions feel like they were pulled from real interview experiences, which makes the practice feel meaningful. I also liked that the solutions usually walk through the logic step by step, making it easier to learn even when you get a question wrong. That said, this is not a book I would recommend as a first introduction to quantitative finance. It assumes you already have a decent mathematical background and some familiarity with finance concepts. If you are completely new, parts of it may feel abrupt or under explained. In a few places, the explanations could be more detailed or polished, especially for readers who want deeper intuition rather than just the final approach. Overall, this book works best as a supplement rather than a standalone resource. If you are already studying for quant interviews and want realistic practice questions that sharpen how you think under pressure, it is very useful. While it is not perfect, it delivers on its main goal and earns a strong four stars for being practical, focused, and genuinely helpful for interview preparation.

amazing print and book
We all know this book is top3. Had this book printed before in a bad quality, gave it to a friend of a friend. Recently decided to buy one for myself again and was surprised by the quality of this print. Just plain awesome!

Perfect book to start, but far from enough to get a job.
Perfect book to START interview preparations for quant positions. Covers most popular topics in quant interviews. However, the problems in this book might be too easy if you are looking for a quant position in large investment banks or buy side companies. Further materials should be necessary.

Great Book for interview preparation, but also amazing for review from time to time. In combination with two other books you are well prepared. I want to stress one important point about this book: it is a little different, it rather focuses on the technical part (probability etc.) but does not come short of the others. Therefore, I think, for any technically focused job a very good review of the material (just to check if you are able to solve it or not, such that you can look it up in other books).
