Your only problem will be how to open the old fob. You will need some effort and focus. Just search for some YouTubes and you will find what you need. If the BMW sign was placed, it would have been great. At all, I removed it from the old fob and glued it to the new one, and it is not bad.

This replacement key fob cover fit perfectly and was exactly what I needed. All the buttons lined up properly, and everything snapped together nicely without any gaps. It instantly made my worn-out key fob look brand new again. The material feels solid and durable, not cheap plastic. The buttons press smoothly and respond just like the original. Installation was straightforward and didn’t take much time, especially if you already have the internal electronics from your old fob. Am so happy with this purchase, as it saved us hundreds of dollars! This replacement key came with the battery connection and most importantly the spring for the unlock/removal of the physical key, which was lost from our busted up 2014 X3 OEM key fob. It was easy to snap this fob together with the OEM circuit board and coin battery. A quick trip to the garage confirmed all the fob buttons worked to lock/unlock the doors and open the rear hatch. The physical key locked in place and is secure, so no worries all around. I highly recommend this case replacement for a used up OEM fob, as I know we’ll see years of use out of it as it is well made and built to last.

I was about to buy a new key for something like $4-500. Mine was beat up and ugly, also it was the all black model. I decided to take a chance for less than $20 on this product. I wasn't worried if it didn't work or if I destroyed my key in the process, so keep in mind if you mess up you could easily cost yourself $4-500 for a new key. First step was to take a box cutter to the OEM BMW key and cut it open. Then you had to carefully pop open the fob without damaging the circuitry, and finally transfer the circuit board and battery over. The BMW logo looks great, the buttons work great, and the comfort access feature is not affected. Overall it was one of the best upgrades for my F30, especially for less than $20!! I gave this 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 because the slide in key does not fit 100% snugly. You can see it in the picture, its not a big deal because it doesn't bother me much and my key looks and feels 100x better now. Looks no different than a M4 key!
