Dog is obsessed with this
I have bought many bones, balls, and toys for my 9 month old 60 pound lab/hound mix, but he is the most obsessed with these extra large premium elk horn chews !! Thank god these exist. It keeps him busy for 30-60 mins at a time until he gets tired of it. I will be buying the Giant size now that he’s gotten bigger!!

Very big and DRASTICALLY less expensive then in store
I’m used to seeing antlers for sale at the pet store. Little bits of antlers can be like $30+, and I saw ones a bit smaller then the one I received, selling for almost $70 at the pet store. I paid $23 for the large as it was on sale. And honestly $70 wouldn’t be that outrageous considering how long they last and the amount of money I was spending on bully sticks instead. So I finally tried an antler and my dog loves it. She is missing multiple teeth from trauma to her face a while ago, and bully sticks were her favorite before her teeth came out. Now bully sticks hurt her gums and make her lips swell up a bit Becuase she goes a bit to hard on them. So I took a chance on this antler! She chews it on and off throughout the day and loves it. She has barely made a dent in that thing, and her mouth has been totally fine.Warning through—the very first day she chewed on it, a bunch of tiny chunks were all over the blanket she was chewing it on. The chunks were really difficult to pull off of the plush blanket. It hasn’t done that since, so just be mindful for that first chew session! Maybe put an old towel under them. Especially if you have a plush/shaggy carpet.

Accurate description- Exceeds expecataion
Sully, the black and tan little guy is a semi-aggressive chewer. I purchased a set of whole Elk Antler (for aggressive chewer) and he wasn't interested at all. I think it was just a bit too much for him. I then purchased this aset of split antlers and literally within seconds he was well into his. Bella on the other hand loves the whole elk antler. I always get size small for them both.

Depends on the dog…
I have two tough bullies. One (spoiled mama’s boy) isn’t interested but the rough ‘n tough female loved them. They won’t splinter and break. Female kept busy a long time extracting the marrow… I especially like that these are super large and cut open lengthwise. It taught me that they want to get to the inside.. Explains why others just sit on the ground… I WILL BUY AGAIN!

I got the small 2 pack for my dogs. They really love these and I love the price. Was buying these from a local pet store for much more money. I will repurchase when it’s time.

An awkward piece - Broad and flat; marrow does not extend to both ends
A little background:I ordered this antler for my 40lb Aussie to keep her entertained during the day when I need to get work done while stuck at home during the pandemic. As anyone with an Aussie can tell you, they are very calculated chewers, looking for and exploiting every tiny flaw in a toy until they are able to take it apart. So I have to be very careful about what toys I give her, and all but the toughest chew toys will have chunks torn off and be rendered unusable within minutes. I had received a smaller split antler as a Christmas gift, which my dog enjoyed. It seemed to last a long time without any dangerous chunks coming off, and as I watched her gnaw on it, she seemed to have figured out how to do so without bearing down in such a way that I worried about damaging her teeth. I felt that one was a bit small for her though, and it could be difficult for her to get a good grip on, so I decided to order one that was supposed to be appropriately sized. The product: At first glance, the antler itself seems high quality, but the cut I received leaves something to be desired. The piece I received looks like it is from the base of the antler, with a flared bony protrusion on the end. It is very broad and at first it looked like I got this huge antler with added value, but when I looked more closely, the marrow looks pretty shallow through the last few inches and doesn’t extend all the way to the bottom end. This means my dog can only get marrow by chewing from one end, and I worry about her damaging her teeth when she tries to chew on the other “bony” end. I got the split antler because the exposed marrow creates a little “give” when my dog chews on it, so I hoped this would provide some protections from tooth damage. The larger end is the one without the marrow, but it is also the one that she finds easiest to access, so she keeps trying to chew on it from different angles, then gets frustrated, gives it a dirty look, and leaves it. Because of the size and awkward shape, she had an even harder time getting a grip on it than she did with her smaller one, and she is incredible dexterous with her paws, so it is very unusual for her not to be able to manipulate a toy into a good chewing position. The bony end is also not an easy shape for her to “gnaw” on, so she bore down on it more than I’ve seen her do on other toys as she tried to figure out how to chew on it. I finally started to get worried she was going to do damage to her teeth and had to go over and turn it around to the marrow end and help her orient it in her paws so she could hold it and get the end in her mouth. I don’t currently feel safe leaving this out where she might chew on it when I’m not there to directly supervise. I didn’t expect to have to teach my “chew master” how to chew appropriately on her new antler. She chewed on and off for about 15 minutes (probably only about 5-7 minutes total) before she just left it on the floor and went to find something else to do. In those few minutes, she put a larger dent in the marrow than she did in days of chewing on her old one, so I’m not thinking it would last as long if she kept chewing on it. Not what I had hoped for from a $20 chew.Overall, I felt like this was just an awkward cut of antler. The shape was difficult for my dog to manage and the lack of marrow throughout was disappointing. I know getting a cut that is less than ideal is part of the chance you take by not buying in the store, where you can choose the exact one for your dog, but I do feel like if you advertise something as being for 30+ lb dogs, it should not be too big and unmanageable for a 40 lb dog. I’ll give it another day or two to see if my dog is able to adapt to it, otherwise I plan to return it.
