Nor real wool - not performing as it should
I am fond of wool underwear and use them constantly. This item advertised as wool was not sewn very professionally but I was open to overlook this if it performed well. Unfortunately, it did not perform. It was not warm to the touch when wet and tended to have an odor much faster than my other brands wool underwear. Since I wanted to check, I tried to burn a small piece - no smell of burnt hair emanated and the material behaved like a cotton blend. This makes me think it is not wool

I’ve had several wool pair from several different brands. I’ve had some for several years and still look great. This pair had the elastic and stitching wear out in 4 months. Very disappointed for what they cost compared to other brands.

Very nice comfortable, not scratchy, warm
Frist time I purchased a wool shirt, very happy with the shirt. Is not scratchy and comfortable to wear. I recommend and would purchase another.

The inside of the Elastic band is covered with merino
The manufacturer was careful in the design to ensure merino contact. I experience none of the itch characteristic of wool and sometimes merino. A great product.

Just what I was looking for
And very comfy. I've had it for a couple of months and have worn it a lot and it washes up well. I washed it on the wool cycle in the washing maching and then hung it up to dry. Still as soft and same fit as when brand new. Stylistically, it's not tight fitting, if this matters to you.
