Feels reliably solid and reassuringly heavy in my hands (and it is quite heavy). It's well made and a lovely shape to hold let alone set your food off to perfection. If I'm having salad as a main course, this is often the bowl I go to now - I can see every ingredient in my meal and pick at it as I please (one of those people who likes to eat all of one ingredient at a time and invariably leaves the best till last!). Great for pasta too - the contrast of colour against the soft white is very appealing. Plenty of space to push the pasta to one side and leave space for fork twirling! If you do use it for hot food, heat it before you put the finished dish together in it - the thickness of such a large bowl will cool the food too quickly otherwise. I either pour boiling water over it near to the end of cooking and then drain and dry it just as everything's ready to put together or I pop it into the microwave with a very small glass of water and heat it for about 45 seconds (1000 watt oven). It's dead easy to clean too though I rinse the inside surface before submerging it in the suds if I've been eating anything that stains (turmeric or beetroot for example). Would look lovely as a fruit bowl to show off a beautiful bunch of grapes or a pile of ripe figs. Al said and done, though it was a bit pricey, it was worth it for me.

Got this as a server to go with my black matte dishes. Good size for a shared salad. Look lovely on the counter filled with oranges, good size for a taco warmer... i may need another....
