My wife loves this Hummingbird and a friend feels the same about the Squirrel I bought him.

Cute but, way overpriced.

I bought metal birds carolina wren and chickadee a few years back. Now I'm adding a humming bird. the quality is very good, the metal is very defined. It will rust, they say patina but here in FL it rusts. There are 2 things you can do depending on how you feel about that. We have done both. One we clear coated, and one we left as is. The one we left as is has rusted to a lovely brown, looks weathered like it's been there forever and has become one with nature. The clear coated one is as fresh as a daisy. Personally, I prefer the one that looks aged. However, even aged it holds up because the metal is fairly thick and I expect to get many more years out of both. It's funny when a real wren lands on the metal bird.

I love hummingbirds and they are here year round in the area in which I live. I'm not sure what they will think of this beautiful METALBIRD - Hummingbird - Outdoor Tree Ornament in Corten Steel, 😉 but I love it! It is beautifully crafted right here in the USA. I haven't decided if this lovely creation is even going to go outside. The weather has turned nasty and cold, and since I won't be spending as much time outdoors, I opted to mount this in a post inside our rec room, alongside another beautiful creation by METALBIRD. 🙂 The METALBIRD is well made, easy to mount, and looks great! I'm quite pleased with it and feel it would make a lovely gift! It arrived in a sturdy box with the sturdy and pointed mounting area well protected. In summary, I'm quite pleased with the METALBIRD - Hummingbird - Outdoor Tree Ornaments in Corten Steel and feel it is worth the listed price! 5 stars and recommended! Note: if I eventually opt to mount this outside, and if I experience disappointing results, I'll update this review.

You won't see anything like this bird-themed outdoor tree ornament at your local discount store, that's for sure. I don't know what corten steel is, but it makes a gorgeous hummingbird decoration to hang outside or, if you don't have your own personal tree in which to install things, you can find a place for it indoors. This is a very sturdy steel ornament and is beautifully done. The hummingbird looks realistic except for being a dark gray steel color. It makes me wish I still had a nice big yard with a huge tree out front where I could hang this. Excellent product, well made and very sturdy, and a great value for your money. These would make wonderful gifts and are definitely not something you'll be seeing everywhere. No word yet on whether or not the squirrels approve of this, but they probably won't care.

There is nothing I disliked about this item. I'm installing it on my porch so that I can see it from inside the house and outside of the house. It's very well made and it has a good weight to it. What I did was, I used a drill bit a little smaller than the part that goes into the wood and then I drilled down1 inch deep into the side of the post before I hammered it to make it go in smoother and easier. When you hammer it into the wood, make sure you use rubber mallet and not a hammer. A hammer could possibly damage it. You can also put this in any wood material I found a small flaw about this. Both sides do not have the same paint on it. When we view the bird from inside the house, it looks beautiful. But, when we view it from outside, it has like a black matte finish. It's pretty dull. I wish the bird looked the same on both sides. I'll get more pictures tomorrow.

These are fabricated and nicely done in heavy steel but still just a bit pricey for something that is cut out not hand forged or blacksmith made. Beautifully made and precision. A great gift idea that will last.
