what is the total video recording time?

For the E5S (no cellular version), with 8 lithium AA batteries, it can record 7 to 8 hours of daytime videos and 7 to 8 hours of nighttime videos in total (averagely). Assuming half and half, shooting 10 daytime videos and 10 night videos (10 second per video) a day, the battery will last about 8 months. The time may vary from batteries quality, temperature and environment. It can take tens of thousands of photos if only taking photos.

Does this camera have a GPS locator if it gets stolen?

I have two of them. They take photos, day, or night. Not aware of any GPS option. When in the back yard, I just use a camera stand. In front, I have a lock and chain, which I use to secure to a stable location. The thief would need a bolt cutter to steal the unit. I have other live cameras around the house. I would have photos of the thief, as well. If I caught the thief in action, well that is another story. . . .

Can it be set up on an existing AT&T cellular plan that we have our phones on?

No. You can select the cellular data plan offered by the X50, depending on your usage.
