Power out alarm
We have a photovoltaic system with battery backup on our house. But the batteries can only power the essential items in our house for a limited amount of time. A lot of our essential circuits have other items plugged in, and we need to marshal the amount of power usage to insure we don't run out of battery power. We put this alarm on one of the outlets that does not receive power from our battery backup, since the batteries take over seamlessly during an outage. There is a red flashing light, which is quite bright, and a VERY loud alarm that goes off when the outlet looses power. This lets us cut off not essential items, check the amount of juice we have in the batteries so we can manage our use. It is a great tool for people with systems like ours.

Fast install and solid basic functionality
Simple to use. Plug it into an outlet turn it on and if the power fails the alarm goes up. It cost effective way to monitor power near freezers and other places where lots of power could be a problem. Decent build quality. WiFi connectivity would be a plus.

Really, really loud
The alarm works well. My only complaint is that it is too loud. We want to know when we lose power to our refrigerator. It doesn't need to sound like we are under attack by Martians! I had to cover it in a piece of foam rubber to dampen the noise.

False alarm!
I just bought this and installed it yesterday. I tested it before installing it and it worked fine. This afternoon, the audible alarm went off and I went to check it. The alarm was plenty loud to warn, but the red light was not blinking, and the circuit was not tripped! I am returning it and going to find something else that I can depend on! I can’t afford false alarms!!!

Very loud!
I bought this alarm for a solar/battery backup system. Works as it should but I have it located in a closet in the bedroom. It's very loud!! I'd compare it to a really loud fire alarm. I ended up wrapping it in some gorilla tape to block and muffle it a little. It's not a subtle alarm... it screams! All in all it does its job!

👍👍
Very loud, bought to sleep better on camping trips and worry less that someone might steal my generator. Woke me RIGHT the Eff up when the dog accidentally pulled the power cord from the generator. Also works in reverse, turn on and plug into powerless outlet and will alarm go off when power returns.

This can literally save your life.
I live in a rural location that loses power often, especially during very cold winter nights during snowstorms. One night, the power went out and my home temperature dropped to 45 degrees before I woke up and started the generator. I immediately bought one of these alarms. It works well and it's very loud. It will wake you up even if you sleep with earplugs. Just test it out periodically to ensure the batteries and on switch are functioning.

Does the Job at a Value Price
Overall: Bought his about two months ago and I'm very happy with it. We have a family member who uses CPAP and my wife has been worried about a power failure occurring during the night. This alarm will allow the user to wake up and plug into a battery back up. Pro's: Does exactly what it says it's going to do. Con's: As others have said, the instructions could be better, but it's easy to use and spending a few minutes with it will tell you more than the instructions ever will. Other reviewers have mentioned the lack of features. This is true, but this was only a $10 unit. Premium features come with a price tag. For this price point, this is a perfect product. I recommend this product.
