Cantu Coconut Curling Cream with Shea Butter for Natural Hair, 12 oz

I use this for my son's hair! He has really nice hair so I like to make sure it's well taken care of. He is mixed with African American, Mexican, and Caucasian so his hair is curly and he likes to keep it long it's important for me to get a strong curl cream that has many good qualities. For me this protects his hair and keeps it moisturized without weighing down his curls or making them crunchy, that being said a little goes a long way and if you add too much it will get those white flakes on the scalp so don't over apply. It's thick so distribute it evenly and focus on the curl patterns rather then the thickness, I have come to find that using really small amounts and focusing on the curls does better then just grabbing a big amounts and rubbing it all over. I have curly hair myself but my mom didn't know how to do my hair so these are things I learned as I grew up and wish I knew. I think it does add shine, but if you are like my son if you sleep rather restless after night 2 it's gonna need a touch up because the frizz will start to happen. I am very happy with the product for smelling nice, providing hold and curl definition, being affordable and lasting awhile I usually buy two jars at once and my sons hair wash days vary between every other day to 3 days and they last me about 4 months but keep in mind he does not have a sensitive scalp so I am not sure on how this product would be with that case and I honestly apply it really thin on his top layer to avoid the flakes that have happened from over applying in the past.

I have more wavy hair but it goes great with my wet hair and when it dries overnight, the shine and softness of my hair is smooth and easier to manage and style. Dires quickly and the washability of the product of the next day is not an issue! Give it a try!

I'm still trying to figure out how much product to use and if it's right for my hair. I'm in my late 50s with somewhat thinning and fine hair that has always been more wavy than curly. I'm also Caucasian. I think it would work better for me if my hair wasn't thin and fine and if it were more curly. It does enhance the curls and looks good when I put it in, but when my hair dries it looks a bit greasy. I will try using less to see if that helps and give another update. The price is great. I've used all kinds of curl creams that are much more expensive. Unfortunately they discontinued my favorite Neutrogena leave in conditioner that I loved.

I loved this product. It's so smooth and thick that you don't need to use much. Just a little is enough. You can even use a little water to soften it. I think at this rate, I won't have to buy another one for a long time. Plus, it smells so good. I really liked it.

Works great for making my curls go the way I want them to. Easy to use, gives my hair a nice shine. No issues with washing it out. Love the smell, smells clean.
