Clear and vivid picture
This was packaged well for shipping. The machine and remote were sealed in plastic. Paperwork was helpful. Video quality is clear and vivid, audio as well. Great price for all the items included. UPDATE: I almost returned this thinking the RCA Out stopped working. I needed to UPDATE MY DRIVERS. Still works great!

Buyer beware: garbage that you can only use reliably for 90 days
Buyer beware! If you decide to purchase this item, know that you will be effectively paying over $300 for a refurbished device neither the seller or Amazon will stand behind. The seller blames Amazon for this (see response below). So, I purchased this in September of 2025 and did not attempt to use it until 6 months later for a transfer project. It played the VHS tapes I was using to transfer twice, one for each tape, and then one of them one more time as I transferred the digital file. Then the intake and eject mechanism broke and wouldn’t intake any VHS tapes. I contacted the seller only to be told sorry, 90 day warranty is now up, good luck and thanks for your business. When I let them know how frustrating that is and asked if I could purchase another refurbished unit at least at discount, they claimed Amazon wouldn’t let them (see below). I do not dispute that I contacted them after the 90 days, but this is ridiculous and leave it to potential buyers to decide whether the seller’s explanation makes any sense at all. Just know that if you do purchase from them, you might be spending over $300 for a unit which the seller (and/or Amazon) will only stand behind for 90 days after which you are SOL with a useless piece of garbage if it breaks due to normal usage. Seller response to request for a discounted replacement after it broke after exactly three plays of a VHS tape: Hello, Thank you for your message and for being candid about your frustration. We do understand where you’re coming from, and we’d like to clarify a key point to avoid any misunderstanding. The 90-day warranty is not set by us individually—it is Amazon’s standard policy for all refurbished electronics sold on their platform, regardless of seller or price point. We are required to operate within Amazon’s refurbished program rules, and we do not have the ability to extend, override, or privately modify that warranty window. Because the unit is outside of Amazon’s 90-day refurbished warranty period, we are not permitted to offer a paid replacement, discounted replacement, or any arrangement tied to reviews or feedback. We also cannot accept additional payment to send another unit, as that would fall outside Amazon’s policies. If you purchased an extended protection plan through Amazon at checkout, that remains the only available path for coverage at this stage, and Amazon Customer Support would be the correct contact to assist with that claim. We truly regret that the unit failed when it did and understand how disruptive that is to your project. While we can’t offer the solution you proposed, we do appreciate the opportunity you gave us to explain the situation clearly. If you have any general questions or need clarification on Amazon’s refurbished warranty structure, we’re happy to help explain further. Best regards, David

You’ll love it
It’s worth the money. I bought so many VCR before from other stores and I couldn’t watch my old video cassettes. I was amazed from the picture quality and sound. I recommend you to buy.

Deceitful title.
This product has a deceitful title. I was under the impression that I could digitize my old VHS videos. I paid more this product because I thought it was all I needed but now I have to order another device. This is not worth over $200. It does work but nobody is buying this product to watch movies. It was well packaged and in good shape but you can find a cheaper VHS.

Ruined My Tapes!!!
The setup was fine , and the first tape I tried played well, but when I tried to FF or rewind, the player would malfunction and not only fail the command but would not play the tape. When I attempted to eject the tape, the film would get stuck and require manual removal with resultant damage to the film itself. At first I thought that the problem was with the particular tape that I had used (home movie of the kids) so I changed to a professionally recorded tape but it did the same thing. Because I had been so excited to see old home tapes, I decided to try to play them and avoid the FF or rewind functions , but the player continued to malfunction and the eat the tapes!!! SO SAD!!
