Fantastic!
Nice sturdy compact lock and latch combo. I needed a lock that would work when the latch had some tension on it and this design was perfect. Never binds up, grabs every time and worked flawlessly. I used it on a spring loaded automated gift box that would Pop Open (upon lock activation) and it was a huge hit. The manual trigger is also great for testing when you don't have power applied (or as a emergency release).

Nice project lock!
Awesome little actuators. I’ve been looking for a strong, yet small device to release a door when it receives a trigger from a wireless controller... these locks work PERFECT! Surprisingly powerful, strong build (everything is metal) and the latch can be used from the side as well... see pics. I took it apart and it’s a very simple system, but seems like it will last a long time. Lots a wasted space inside the housing which I’m going to use to hide some electronics hopefully. Using a small 12v Milwaukee M12 battery, the latch releases even with some resistance on it, exactly what I needed. I especially like how it pushes the latch out when it releases... like a spring’d pop.

Good quality
I have used several of these in my escape rooms. Very good.

Solid Latch
This is an interesting latch. It can be triggered manually with a very light touch on the exposed metal rod on the back of the unit, allowing for a manual release. When wired it absolutely needs both 12v and 1A of power to work, anything less and the latch will not trigger, even partially. Once triggered the latch is released quite explosively/energetically.

Simple, robust design!
I purchased these to latch a 100+lb bookshelf door. I have two of them wired in parallel positioned near the top and bottom. They have great positive engagement and holding strength. When released, the internal springs provide enough kick to nudge the heavy door open with ease. I am running the solenoids on 8 AA batteries (~12v) but they functioned just fine on as low as 9v. I am very pleased with their performance in my application.

Good if installed properly
I used these paired with a remote transmitter, which is similar to popping the trunk on a car. They’ve been in use for over a month now without issue. I’ve seen other reviews mention that they stop working quickly, but I believe their power source to be the problem. Make sure to use a 12v power source with no more than 3 amps output. Also be sure that the power is only activated in short pulses as the wires are thin. I used a rapthor battery and DieseRC key fob unit.

Fantastic latch, securely locks, loaded opening action.
I bought this to replace a similarly priced lock solenoid because that other latch could be easily shaken open. Not this one. The outer body is metal, the latch holds fast and doesn’t budge when shaken, and it springs open with pretty substantial force when unlocked, enough to pop open a door. It also requires a bit of force to close due to the mechanism, which is a good thing. The design stores the potential energy from the latch closing and uses the relatively weak force of the solenoid to unleash it. Another reviewer uploaded a photograph of the mechanism which you can review.

I love a solenoid drop. This is such a neat way to implement them without faffing about with insustrial fikings and odd nut and bolt gauges.

I have it on my trailer and I have to put pressure on the door for the release. It still works great and there is no problem with its function. Just wish the latch would release without having to push on door first. But it is a good security feature
