The Alice Collection/Alice in Elementary (Collected Set): Starting with Alice; Alice in Blunderland; Lovingly Alice

Great books for young girls. They start in elementary and as the reader ages, Alice does too. The Alice character encounters the typical situations that girls will.Parents should be warned that the Alice books deal with topics that are often uncomfortable for parents to talk about with their children. They may not want to allow their young readers to have the high school Alice books until they are more mature.The best thing about this book series is that it allows the young reader to go through many difficult life events with Alice and learn some very valuable lessons about how to overcome and deal with the hard things that life throws at young people.

Spoiler:The cat that is featured on the collector's box dies in one of the first few books. My daughter was rather upset and immediately got rid of that book and all later books in the series. I guess that means it was well written, but it was definitely not for her.

My daughter read these books as a child.. ordered the three book set for my nine year old granddaughter. She is loving the first one. I highly recommend these for a 3rd-5th grader. The author is wonderful.

She loved reading them. She goes to middle school next. I will be buying the middle school years for her 5th grade graduation! :)

The description says these books are for ages 7-12 but that really deceived me. In the third book it explicitly explains what sex is and what a girl’s period is. My 8 year old daughter asked me some questions and then I read it in the book myself. I was horrified. Moms and dads, if you haven’t had the talk with your little girl you should not buy these books. They are not appropriate for young elementary school children.
