Do you have to calibrate every time say once a week?

Hi, I think I can answer your question. As both a user and a worker in the medical industry, the following standards can be followed regarding use of controls on these and any other glucose devices. Controls are best applied when you open a new lot of strips to verify their function. Other times controls are best used are when you get a reading that seems to be out of range for your normal. Or after you have dropped or potentially damaged or contaminated strips or your meter to verify function. Other than that, if you have two boxes of the same lot number, you should only have to run a control on the first box of that lot and unless there are any obvious deviations as mentioned above, controls should not need to be ran again until you change lot numbers.
