I ordered the Evolution R255DCT concrete saw to use in cutting field (natural) stone. I'm placing the fieldstone around my front porch and mortaring it in place. Some of the stone was very large, over 100 lbs, 36"+ in diameter, and 5 or 6" thick. Some thicker. It came with the 10" premium diamond blade and was advertised as cutting 4-1/16" thick. I selected it for the 4" diameter and the weight of the saw (16 lbs vs 21 for the next upsize - I'm not as young or strong as I used to be). I mark the cut line with chalk and just follow the line, making an initial shallow cut for the blade to follow on later cuts. . I let the weight of the saw carry the saw through the cut and I just move it forward. I'll make multiple passes through the stone to reduce potential kickback. That takes the strain off of me bending over and cutting the rock, which is lying on the ground (resting on smaller rocks). I've attached pictures that shows I'm getting at least 4" thick cuts which satisfies me. Another picture shows larger rocks that were cut. The 10" premium blade cuts well, no complaints there. It's rated at 15 amps and several reviews said it kept kicking breakers. I'm using it with a 15 amp 100' construction grade extension cord on a 20 amp breaker and have not experienced any breaker kicks. Not any. One of the videos on it said the blade stopped (breaked) after you let off the trigger. That has not been my experience. It keeps on turning, slowing down, so one needs to be careful and not swing it down by a leg. The diamond blade will go through meat quickly. I also like the angle of the saw body so it can be laid down without the blade coming into contact with the ground or floor. The only issue I've had, and this is a nit, is that the bracket assembly that fastens on the bottom, with wheels to allow it to roll on concrete, is supposed to have 2 fasteners. It only came with one. I contacted Evolution and they were very supportive and jumped right on it. I'm using it with only one screw in it because I'm not trying to roll it. It's holding fine with just the one since it hooks into place and the screws just lock it down. Overall I am very pleased with this saw. Field stone generates a LOT of dust so I highly recommend a respirator and safety goggles. I use a cordless leaf blower to clean it up after use. Works well. I recommend this saw if you're looking for a good saw at a reasonable price.

Evolution R255DCT - 10 in Concrete Saw (Aka Circular Saw, Angle Grinder, Chop Saw, Cut Off Saw, Demo Saw, Disc Cutter, Power Cutter) - 15A Motor, No Gas - 4-1/16 in Cut - Incl Premium Diamond Blade Looks and feels like good quality tool. I use it to cut 13 feet of concrete and stones. Not much cuttings to be sure how good it is. Thickness of cut was from 2" to 4". I didn't use any water for cutting and cooling. I had to buy extention cord supporting 15 ampers of load. Do not use long extension cord. Longer cord bigger voltage drops and higher current on the end. Do not use 20 Amps circuit breaker, because motor is rated for 14 amps not 20 amps. I used 15 amps circuit breaker and few times when I pushed down to hard saw, C/B overloaded. This is relatively OK. This is how works overload protection, to protect electrical line and preventing damage in our case motor. 20 Amps C/B may lead to motor damage. Then I learned not to push to hard, and I pressed gently. Also if cut is deep and cutting line is not straight, blade is pinch causing motor to overload circuit breaker to.

A light duty and light weight dedicated masonry/ concrete saw. It did a fine job cutting a door opening through my roman brick. The goldilocks for a 3 1/2 inch deep brick, enough depth for a full cut without danger of cutting into lap siding beyond the one inch air gap. Enough power on 15 amps for its 10 inch blade, a consideration if a 20 amp circuit isn't available which is required for bigger electric saws.
