Works miracles for our 2 cats & Amazon's price is a steal!
I was very dubious of this stuff since it just seemed like there was no way it could really be effective. I understand how pheromones work, but I wondered how they could produce them and sell them for this price and make a profit. Still, I had a few friends who were adamant about how great Comfort Zone with Feliway was. After a few months, we finally tried it, and it was a surprisingly effective success! Allow me to explain why we needed it and how it helped. We had one cat, Meep, and when a friend was unable to keep their cat, Q, due to having to move for their job, we thought "We'll take him in. Q and Meep have similar personalities and would probably love playing with each other!" We were completely wrong! Despite going through the whole process of slowly introducing the to each other through closed doors, etc. over 2 weeks, Meep decided she hated Q from the start. She would get jealous of him even being near me, get angry when he tried to sniff her, and just seemed ticked off by his existence. As a result, Meep was constantly attacking Q and starting fights. Aside from it being upsetting when they fought, Q is twice Meep's size, and while he didn't start fights, he would finish them. As a result, Meep was regularly getting injured. Most of the injuries were on her face, and I was terrified she was going to be seriously hurt. We initially bought 4 diffusers even though each one supposedly covers a large area. We placed 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs to be sure. The change was not instant, but it was definitely noticeable within about 2-3 weeks. It was a gradual reduction in fights to start. Within a about 3 months, the fighting had stopped almost entirely, and the occasional spats were much, much less violent. At that point, we went to 1 diffuser upstairs, but we still have 2 downstairs because with how our house is arranged, there didn't seem to be enough air flow between the rooms at the front of the house and the 2 at the back. The cats continued to get along, and their behavior continued to improve. We have used this product for 2 years now, and After the first year we were able to reduce to only 1 diffuser on each level of the house. Meep and Q went from tearing each other apart, to tolerating each other, to (finally) getting along and even being affectionate with each other! Honestly, without Comfort Zone, I believe we would have had to find a new home for Q or risk one of the cats getting severely injured. Now, if you're like me, you might be thinking "It has been a long time, maybe they just got used to each other, and this product didn't actually do much." I have 2 reasons as to why I think Comfort Zone has made and continues to make a difference in our cats' behavior. 1) When we got the diffusers, the cats had been together (and fighting) for at least 6 months, and their was no sign of improvement during that time. As mentioned, I noticed a significant reduction in the number of fights and their intensity within 2-3 weeks of use. I do not think such a rapid change in behavior just happened to coincide with starting to use Comfort Zone. 2) About a year ago, I decided to stop using Comfort Zone and observe the effects. Within about 2 weeks of unplugging the diffusers, Meep & Q were fighting again! Now, the fights were significantly less violent and occurred less often, but they still started again. I did notice that, over the few weeks without Comfort Zone, the cats also had moments where they got along. This says to me that even the single year of use did result in permanent behavioral changes changes. So, while we chose to go back to using Comfort Zone more or less constantly, my observations suggest it could be used for a certain period of time to induce behavioral changes and then stopped. I really think it just depends on why you are using Comfort Zone and how your cat or cats respond. I love this product since it has allowed us to keep both of our cats and made our home significantly more peaceful. I know it can be used for other issues. For example, I have a friend who used it to help with a cat who was pooing outside of the litter box, and I've had a few friends who've used it temporarily right before a move and then at their new home to help with the transition. If you are using Comfort Zone for the first time, I would suggest doing what I should have done and keep a journal with notes about the initial problematic behavior(s), dates of use and when changes were noticed, and general observations during use. This way, you can determine if this product is effective for your needs.

I would not be without this product!
When I bought my two kittens, who are now ten years old, from a certified, highly recommended cat breeder, they were two terrified little kitties who were afraid of everything, especially people. Come to find out, they had been abused by said cat breeder, who is no longer in business and whose abuse was so severe, the police wanted to jail her. She didn't socialize her kittens but kept them, and their mothers, in a large cage, and apparently didn't even let them out at any time. I did not see her home where she bred them because it was in Arizona but it was bad enough that someone who bought a kitten from her traveled from a state far away to pay her a surprise visit. He was the one who called the police. Needless to say, socializing these lovely Burmese cats was a huge challenge but we managed to some extent and they were fine with me during the day but not completely at ease when my husband came home from work. I had seen ads for this product and figured it couldn't hurt them and maybe it would help. I can state, unequivocally, that this is the one product that made the difference between having timid cats who spent all their time hiding under the bed and having suspicious cats who love my husband as much as they love me and sometimes even go to strangers. They wil never be like normal Burmese cats but Feliway has made life so much easier for them! In their ten years, I have never been without it and I change each component when I should. I can't recommend it enough and I am so upset that they are changing the product markedly. I don't want the new one that smells "oily" and can't be near curtains - I have two that are near curtains - because the new type will literally spray. All I can do is stockpile the old type and pray that no one buys the new type! Even my Vet noticed the difference in my cats, when they were kittens, and asked me what I'd done to change them and I told her it was Feliway. I also use the spray in their carrier when we're going to the vet and it prevents them from getting so upset. It helps that they I tell them where we're going and they like their Vet. Burmese are amazingly intelligent cats and I am indebted to Feliway for helping me socialize my cats to the degree I have. I don't know what I'll do about the new type, but I encourage all to this type, even if their kittens have beeen socialized. It's helps them get used to their new environment and keeps them calm. NOTE: I have used Feliway Comfort Zone for Multicat, Feliway Comfort Zone for scratching and urine marking (not a problem with my cats), and all the other Feliways and used them interchangably. They all emit the comforting Peremones my cats needed and worked well. I put them the diffusers in the the two rooms where my cats spend the most time. I apologize for my rambling review. It's everything a review should not be but I get carried away when I think of that terrible woman abusing kittens!

Works for us!
I know the Felliway is considered quack science by most serious ppl. We have been skeptical about it, but in all fairness, we have had successful results with it under a variety of conditions. Our first experience was with two female cats, one introduced as a kitten to our ten year old cat. It was a bumpy introduction as our older cat did not appreciate another cat, nevermind a kitten, being around. The kitten had elimination issues which seemed to stem from stress and they seemed to get along much better whenever we used Felliway. We would let it run out periodically and then realize their behavior was getting more tense, only for it to improve when we got refills. This was over a 7 year period in three apartments and a house on two coasts. Unfortunately, both have passed away. Skip ahead to our new adopted older cats who were supposedly best buddies, but fight constantly. We have had multiple injuries (one fell from a height during a fight and acquired a large puncture wound from landing on a shoe rack) and Prozac for one cat and rearranging litter boxes over three levels in our house. While things would improve especially as they have lived with us over a year, there have been periodic serious fights, waking us up at night, etc. Recently, we took the bullied cat in for bleeding which turned out to be a puncture from a claw, something we couldn't see on our own, but massive bruising was visible in shaving. We also found out that this cat is a female, not a male. So, we have a dominant male and submissive female who *do not* get along. We put the female on Prozac, having already put the male on Prozac for spraying and aggression. (BTW, these are the sweetest cats to their humans!) Female cat was extremely lethargic in lowest dose and even on half of this dose which we didn't like and it didn't seem to help much if at all with aggression. We already used "cat calming collars" which seemed to help a bit. We thought, why not give Felliway another shot? The past week since we have plugged in two Felliway diffusers, one on each of the main living levels, have seemed to have a fairly dramatic impact: our male cat is very friendly, wants more pets and slept on my lap which hasnt happened before. He slept in our bed for a few hours, also had never happened. Our female cat also seems to be more outgoing, is hiding out less, comes out for pats a few times a day and seems more calm and vocal. No signs of agression from either one, mostly seeming to avoid one another. We're pretty happy with the results only one week out. I don't know if this is just some sort of placebo effect on our part, but it does seem to impact peace in our house and just chill the cats out. My feeling is, if it works, who cares why?

This stuff really works, even for cats who piss on shoes! A must have for multi-cat households!
If you have a multi-cat household, you really need Feliway! The problem is, it's VERY expensive at the pet stores and never seems to last the full 30 days that the package promises. I have a multi-cat household, and trust me, when the Feliway diffuser is empty, I know it before I even see that the diffuser is empty. The cats start acting up and nit-picking at each other. I started using Feliway a probably 4-5 years ago, when I was having occasional pissing issues with my cats. We used to take our shoes off and set them by the door in this shoe tray so that mud or water wouldn't be tracked into the house. One of my cats was obsessed with sitting on our shoes, like he was some dragon in his lair of shoes. He would even push the shoes over to make a perfect shoe nest for himself, and drag shoes over to boost his lair. I started noticing the strong smell of piss, and the litter boxes were clean. I picked up a shoe, and saw they were in a puddle of old piss. The smell was indescribable. It was the strongest, stinkiest smell of rotting urine, it was gag inducing. We had to throw out half of the shoes, some were able to be saved with Nature's Miracle. And the cleanup was horrible. After the horrifying shoe pissing incident, I decided to buy some Feliway on Amazon. The prices were a fraction of the cost of what it sells for in the pet stores. The night I plugged in the two diffusers (one on each floor), the strangest thing happened. The house was quiet. Nighttime is usually when they roam around causing trouble with each other. The house was eerily quiet. I figured that it had to be coincidence. However, they continued to be much quieter and get along much better. We tried our best not to keep putting shoes in that corner, but they would end up piling up after a few weeks. However, the shoe pissing stopped. After a while, I decided that the habit had been beaten, and stopped buying feliway for a month or two. Guess what? Shoes were pissed on! So, now I always keep a diffuser going. I really should have a second going too, but even with the low prices of the refills on Amazon, it does add up. I do put it on my wish list for holidays and birthdays to help offset the cost. I notice a big difference when I have a second diffuser going upstairs. I've read that using a vacation timer set to go on and off throughout the day can "stretch" how long a bottle lasts. This is something I really need to try. But yes, this stuff really is worth the hype!

Satisfied!
Honestly, I had low expections. We have a problemsome female cat, who had been marking the corners of the room, and also has always #2'd beside the box. Our main concern at the moment is the marking. We had tried numerous options, and nothing worked-enzyme cleaners, vet visits for UTI & antidepressants, litter attractant, more boxes...etc. We were on our way to rehoming her because we rent. Just totally fed up of months of this...cleaning the markings daily or having to seclude her. These plug ins were the last thing to try, and I WAS worried with the reviews of them melting/fire hazard, but decided to just keep an eye on them a few times a day. So, basically, the instructions say to give it 28 days to work. We got to that point, and disappointingly, she was still marking. It also says the treatment period is 90 days...so we kept using it. We were going to use it regardless until it was empty. We had been back to secluding her, and let her out about 2 weeks later. She hasn't had a confirmed marking since, and now it's been about another month. Only twice, did I find just a wee bit of a possible marking, but it was so small, and no smell/color, that I was not sure if that's what it was. However, I cleaned with am enzyme cleaner to deter her, just in case. Overall, I believe, depending on the cat, it may need a bit longer than 28 days, so don't give up so fast. This is the only thing that has been different now to cause a positive change. I'm hoping with longer use she may stop the #2's also; fingers crossed! I am keeping a close eye on the plug in, and do plan on buying the recommended new one every 6 months to reduce the hazard risk. This is the only thing that has helped at all! Now, as for negatives, definitely just the hassle of having to keep buying them of course; we buy the 2 pack refills for now (saves a few dollars overall). They do not last as long as they say. At the MOST, three weeks. However, at just below $25 (with tax), even buying once a month or so, is no different than how much we were paying monthly for the antidepressants from the vet (plus all the cleaners!), which didn't work. So, overall, I say I am satisfied with this product. You just may have to practice a little patience with the time frame. In hopes, in time, it continues working, and continues improving the situation.

This worked for an over-groomed, almost bare-naked-in-places cat, along with an aromatherapy diffuser.
I purchased this as a possible solution to my indoor cats being uneasy about the outdoor cats. One cat had 'bathed' most of the fur off of his tummy, the backs of his legs, his butt, and his tail, but there was really short, short barely-there fuzz left, which I Googled; found out the fur had been broken off by overgrooming with his rough tongue. He also had lost weight. I purchased these refills , poured the contents of one vial into a glass bottle with a dropper, and an InnoGear aromatherapy diffuser (instead of the Comfort Zone plug-in device which seems to melt fairly quickly - from the reviews I read). The diffuser runs about 10 hours on one water refill, and I place about 1/3 of a dropper full of Comfort Zone in the water. It puts out a fine mist, on/off 30 seconds at a time. This has worked great at calming my cats. I also figured out that he was itchy, so I've been using Grizzly Salmon Oil, 1/2 tsp. twice a week, until the itchiness completely subsides. The Salmon oil I give with a plastic dropper onto his tongue. He really doesn't like it, but I tasted it and it's not that strong a flavor. I think he just doesn't like the oily taste. Now, about 2 weeks later, his fur is growing back nicely, he's gained weight, he's calm and seems happy. I considered trying Feliway, but decided not to experiment with something new because this is working great. I also recommend Vets Best Hairball Relief Digestive Aid. This works, too. I grind it up and mix with a little water, and into the dropper it goes. No petroleum products, only natural ingredients.

The Best Pet Related Purchase I Think I've Ever Made
I absolutely love Comfort Zone with Feliway. This product has very much changed the calmness level in our household when it comes to kitty chaos! When we purchased this we had 2 cats, one that was 4 years old and one whom we are unsure of an age (but we guess around 6-7 years old) and they absolutely could not get alone. The 4 year old cat taunted and meowed constantly and the new, older cat wouldn't react well to it - they were constantly on guard and ready to attack, it was ridiculous! I purchased my Feliway diffuser from the local Petco with a single bottle of Comfort Zone with Feliway. After the first day of having it in the house we were amazed to see that the older cat was practically ignoring the loud, younger one! It was amazing just how quickly it worked on him! The younger cat didn't seem to react as well, though I think that is mostly because he spent most of his time outdoors. Unfortunately, my outdoor wanderer has been missing for a bit now :'( - but this is clearly still working for our indoor buddy. You can tell when it runs low because he becomes much more spastic, running around the house more and uncontrollably - and it has nearly completely stopped the scratching on furniture/carpet problem! I will definitely be purchasing this item again - it is well worth the money and actually, you get quite a savings by purchasing here on Amazon - at Petco it cost $25-30 for a single refill! If you are having trouble with your cat seeming tense, on guard all the time or generally spazzing - or if they have a scratching or marking habit - I can absolutely recommend this product with confidence!

and of course it was very frustrating to have all of our furniture smelling like cat pee (which I swear is THE HARDEST smell ...
I was skeptical when a friend suggestion the Feliway diffusers to me as a solution to my young female cat's peeing problem. When she was about a year old, she began peeing outside of her litter box on furniture, clothing, and carpet when we would take a trip and she would be left home for a few days. Over time the accidents increased in frequency, and got to the point where she was peeing several times a week outside of her litter box. We tried switching her litter, getting different types of litter boxes, changing the litter much more frequently, and nothing seemed to help. As a cat lover it is so frustrating when your pet is misbehaving and you don't know how to deter the behavior, and of course it was very frustrating to have all of our furniture smelling like cat pee (which I swear is THE HARDEST smell to completely remove). After reading amazon reviews for Feliway, I gave it a shot and ordered two diffusers for our 800 sq. ft. apartment - one for the living room and one for the bedroom. Since using the diffusers, she has not peed outside of her litter box ONCE. What a miracle product! I will say that I have to buy this refill every month, as the diffusers only last about 4 to 5 weeks before they are empty (you should be checking them frequently during this time frame to make sure they are not plugged in and empty!). This seems like an annoying monthly expense but it will pay for itself with the savings from our furniture and carpets not being ruined, and of course the cost of expensive cat urine cleaning supplies. Also, I have read some reviews that the Comfort Zone formula is not as concentrated as the (more expensive) Ceva formula, however I have noticed no differences in my cat's behavior when switching between the two brands. Finally, I would like to ensure other customers that these diffusers will not change your cat's personality (at least there has been no difference with my two cats). The cat who used to pee everywhere still acts skittish and anxious most of the time, but she is not marking things to calm herself anymore. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this product to any cat owners that are tired of their home smelling like cat pee!
