An effective an easy replacement
It's a light bulb. This was an easy fix for me to replace the failed bulb in my Panasonic microwave. As an electrical engineering graduate I was well aware of the potential dangerous charges stored in capaacitors so i steered well clear of those. The trickiest bit was bending the tabs holding the old light bulb in, and then again to hold the new bulb.

Different wattage
The bulb itself was described as 25W which was the original type bulbThe one delivered was only 15W and was dimmer than the original Panasonic onei did fit it though rather than return as i wanted to complete the job and it does work so maybe just something for other people to know in advance

Easy to fit with caution.
You have to remove the outer cover of the microwave to get access to the bulb. Be cautious the edges of the microwave covered are very sharp and can cut your fingers.
