Super Stars Flaring Tools for 1/4in - 3/4in HVAC Single Flare 45 Degree Eccentric Cone Type Flaring Kit for Copper Pipe Tube

This tool was recommended to me by a professional. I am so happy I got it. It is carefully made. Looks and feels solid. What makes this tool so great is that the cone part is a roller. No lubricant needed. No rubbing wear. I leaves a mirror bright surface and should last a very long time. I had no experience making refrigeration flares. This kit takes no skill. Follow the instructions and it makes perfect flares. I check them with a go no go gauge and the 3/8 and 1/2 are right on every time. The 1/4 will be a bit over sized if the tube is pushed hard to the stop but backed out a hair and they are fine. The built in clutch prevents over tightening and then burnishes the face. The first few times feel awkward but after that they are easy. Do not forget to put the nut on before making the flare. My most common mistake. The tubing cutter works great and has space between the bearings to put a flare that needs to be cut off. See above about putting the nut on first. The deburring tool works well on 3/8 and 1/2. It takes the burr off the inside of the tube without beveling the end. Get some smaller blades to do 1/4. Quick easy and repeatable results. Worth every penny. Nice solid case too.

I am a Previous HVAC Installer & now a HVAC Service Tech. I have had the Yellow Jacket 60440 Flare & Swage kit for years and it has been great. It has always gotten the job done and made perfect flares. The only complaint i have had with it is that it is very time consuming and a pain in the butt if you have to flare multiple pipes. Now that Mini Splits and flared refrigerant piping connections are becoming more common, i was looking into getting something that would be a little faster. I have seen alot of these newer one piece style flare tools and they seem so much more convenient and alot faster. I didnt wamt to spend $200 plus on the yellow jacket one so i figured i would try this cheaper one first to see how i like it. I was very impressed at how quick and clean this tool flares copper. I can flare a pipe with this quicker than i can get my Yellow Jacket 1 even set up to start the flare. I love that it has the plate that stops the pipe and gauges the proper depth for the flare so your not guessing. It makes uniform, identical flares every single time, and very quickly. I did not notice this when i bought it, but it even has a anti torque feature that basically disengauges the handle from the flare piece. This makes sure that you do not over torque or split the flare from tightening it too much. I flared about 8 pipes total just for testing and every single 1 was great, even without deburring a few. Will see how it holds up over time, but soo far i think its a great tool at a fair price

Very nice quality. Very happy with the purchase. If you’re looking for a kit to make perfect flare fittings, get this. I’ve never made a flare fitting before, but this one made a perfect one the first time. Nice and shiny and symmetrical. Way better than the factory flares that came with the coil tubing or the mini split for that matter. The tubing cutter is also great and so is the deburring tool. It’s a little clunky to try and hold everything, but it is a very rugged tool and produces beautiful perfect flares.

Easy to use, perfect, no-leak flares! Used on 2 mini Splits to shorten the lines. Tried a couple of times first, but even the first two came out perfect. I like the addition of the slide to set the line to the right depth before clamping the tool. Flare came out to the right size. Definitely recommend.

Well built, very smooth operation, worked WAY better than expected!

Bought this and used it several times. Made a good flare but it seemed a bit unwieldy as I was using it for the 3/4" copper pipes. I had a hard time getting the head over the end piece and the stopper kept getting in the way. Other wise, it worked well

Heavy-duty construction, sharp cutting wheel, the deburring works well, the flaring tool solidly aligns with the pipe diameter and seats well in the clamp. The flare handle is easy to turn, and, functionally, the eccentric shape minimizes the possibility of splitting that a straight bore could cause. The 5 in 1 kit includes both metric and standard pipe clamps. For what you get in that set, the value is good (although there are definitely cheaper options if this is a one-time use purchase).

Spent a few minutes handling it and reading the instructions then made a test flare on 1/2 copper pipe. The flare was perfect the first time. It is heavy duty and well made. It took hardly any effort twist the mandril to the point of engaging the torque clutch.
