The construction (I purchased the hardcover) is good quality as the pages are thick and could definitely survive some of the rough usage from smaller students. The text and layout flow easily, and each page is enhanced with at least one vibrant illustration that can assist in comprehension.I think that educators would appreciate the well thought out organization and layout of the pages with English text at the top (in black) and Spanish translation on the bottom (in blue.) It assists in providing an opportunity for both translation of new vocabulary words and practice in pronunciation that has built on my daughter’s existing Spanish skills. I think Teachers, Librarians, and Homeschool educators could use this book as a supplement to an already existing Spanish language or ESL curriculum to make lessons more enjoyable.The reader is taken through several adventures of a young lady and her magical backpack. I enjoyed reading it ahead of my daughter and she is now enjoying reading it a little at a time, learning from it and practicing her pronunciation.

A wonderful story for all children about a kind, early childhood educator who has the courage to be different, to be a true individual, and models that example for the benefit of her young students and family.

What a lovely story to share with children of any age. Fun and meaningful. Blue lipstick, a magic backpack, a loving extended family, and lessons in wanting, caring, sharing, and self-confidence. How wonderful to have the story told or read in English and Spanish. Sweet, colorful illustrations. I'm looking forward to Esther Reyes Jones' next book where perhaps we'll learn more about the Blue Lipstick.

This read is amazing even though it is written for children. Adults reading it to their children will magically feel relaxed and confident too. It shows children how giving can make them feel amazing because giving something that is valuable to them may save a friend from feeling lonely helpless and sad. I would certainly recommend this book. It's a real MUST!! READ!
